They are all over done, all the snow maps. Widespread 10:1 ratios like its falling on frozen ground ain’t happening... but you can see the general highlighted areas of a given model run, just don’t take the values verbatim. The maps are the most over-done in the lower elevations and marginal thermal areas.
Are you telling me locking in the HRDPS snow map this morning was a bad idea? Well a man can dream

Even that GFS sounding for BOS is sneaky. Technically accumulates no snow because pytpe doesn't spit any out, but the boundary layer warmth is only about 1400 ft thick. That's pretty close to not being able to fully melt. And if you are snowing hard enough it gets even tougher to keep up with the melting.
Good point.
Is that around 950mb or even lower?

EPS looks closer to the other models. Meh down this way..but we'll see.
-
The 3K NAM has a huge thump. Very close here too..but probably need it a shade colder. Looks great interior SEmass
-
Slight tick south on 18z NAM (10miles?)..but still looks a bit north of euro
-
Chopped off a bit here.
-
12zHerpes/6zEuro are furthest south
-
the RGEM is sort of a compromise between the NAM and Euro, but it looked like it ticked slightly cooler at 12z.

Euro still advertising 3-5” here.... could look nice
I was surprised it looked similar to yesterday..since I hadn't looked since then. the NAM/RGEM were definitely caving to it at 6z.
lockk it in

I will take the snow without the power problems....my stocked freezer + no generator is not a great combination
if you leave your freezer shut..it should be ok.

Overnight runs didn’t change much. Pretty solid look for a good slice of SNE. The accumulation aspect will definitely be influenced by rates...especially in the lower elevations.
Did things shift north any or is the Euro still showing some accumulations down to the coast?
-
woah. 1" would be impressive here, nevermind the 4-5" it's showing.
-
Thought we were past this, but
Don't do it

Getting a bit worried here...really starting to crank and the woods behind my house are to the south....those tall trees would want to fall right towards the house in a southerly wind event.
Good luck..

Winds starting to ramp up here..but don't think I've seen anything over 50mph yet. I also don't want to.. I repaired 3 panels of my stockade fence from the wind storm in February..and seeing what happened today to Ginx's fence has me on edge.

Meh so far here. 6 miles from coast so mixing might be better inland
-
so what's in that squall in ema..snow/grauple/rain?
it's 49 here, but off and on snow/grauple showers throughout the day.
-
Flakes in the air. For 4/10, not bad
-
Severe Thunderstorm warning here.

Holy crap. I thought you were posting a historical storm total... like some hand drawn snowstorm from 1898.
Not the entire seasonal total.

Where was this 3-4 weeks ago? At the same time, we all knew it was going to pan out like this.

some more OES flakes flying around. likely the last we see until next year.
