  1. There are different nuances that affect all three of those valleys in different ways though. Topography width of the valley and height of surrounding hills is very different with all three of those examples. In general Valley’s can face issues that hilltowns avoid but not always a given. There are SWFE’s where the upper CTRV can get more snow than Dave in the N Orh hills. edit: Obviously ULL placement plays a big part.
  2. The East flow will be less of a problem for the Connecticut River Valley than if this was a slow moving coastal. Most of the snow out this way will come from the initial thump.
  3. The constant weenie overanalyzing is amusing but I understand for certain areas. This had basically been a 6” storm for Greenfield since Monday.
  4. There are so many factors but part of it is just bad brakes too. Who knows, any year you could move into us know what your cycle for your location. I don’t know as much about Connecticut and Rhode Island but from Massachusetts through NNE, I bet I could named 30 different towns that are supposed snow holes. Your house is not an anomaly.
  5. I would be shocked if Springfield got less than 6” of snow. I’m expecting about 8” here in the upper valley.
  6. Those winds are for the Hilltowns around you. I think our area is probably good for 6” and be pleasantly surprised if we get more.
  7. A Cape and Islands jackpot would be worth it for the entertainment value on here. I’m sure at 0z the NAM will be amped again.
  8. DIT will find some Twitter Mets to confirm the damage potential that is coming.
  9. The storm on the 10th is not going to have the destructive potential of the pre-Christmas disaster.
