Yeah BOX has been very conservative with amounts, and I don't see their expected snowfall lining up, 1.6 for my area? Wonder if they know something we don't because that doesn't make sense to me, even with the risk of it trending north last minute
I think they’re just being realistic. There’s still plenty of time for this to turn into a sleet storm all the way up to Concord.

BOX not impressed.
Burlington more bullish. -
BOX basically going little to no accumulations even N of Rt 2, outside of the high elevations.

While some up north have a shot at a decent, final round of snow, for most of the forum winter weather is finished...For me, it was finished in mid-February, as the season went out with a bang, pounding me with an entire 1"...I think from a cold squall line.
The grades (all items are equally weighted)
Overall Seasonal Snowfall: F
Picking up where I left off last season, I ended up with another meager, seasonal total...15", which was only 4" more than last winter's disaster.
Snow vs. Rain: F
Rain was king
Staying power/ (number of days) of pack: D-
What little "Pack" that I had did manage to hang around a bit.
Local winter enjoyment: F
Temperature: C
Cold was there, but just not at the right time.
Snowstorms/ events (quality/ quantity): F
My biggest event was under 6"...Not even nude-worthy.Overall Grade: F
Again, a failure of a season, my second full year at Lava Lake, but I'm sure the "so much potential" crew will chime in.Well done.
I’ll probably have a similar report except lots of D’s. I’ll do my grading after this week’s storm which could end up all wet and no white here.

I really think the sleet is being underplayed .. it could potentially end up being like 1"-1.5" of QPF as sleet between the Pike and SNH
Let’s hope not, that would be a shit show on the roads Thursday morning.

Euro blows. Bunch of sleet to a crusty inch before it dries out.
I’m planning on 1-3” of mush which I do not plan on even cleaning of the driveway.
This could easily trend to all sleet and rain 20mi into NH & VT. -

BOX must be riding the NAM.
Kevin told them that’s the way to go with these types of systems.

BOX can just do the northern part of ORH county, right? They can split it? I seem to recall that
Yeah, they split Franklin County all the time.

That would be an…… interesting commute in the Boston area.
Accumulating sleet would be complete gridlock. Fender benders everywhere.

Could be one hell of a sleet storm for many NoP, maybe not snow but still high impact.

Low trended south, it went from being over extreme nw Mass to central CT. Ultimately I am still east of the low, but I like what I’m seeing on this run.
It's an ugly mess for much of SNE but can't discount the changes since 0z models.

Man, it insists on driving that secondary inland.
That doesn't make a lot of sense so let's see where this trends overnight.

Sugarloaf looks to be cashing in on this storm. I saw a forecast calling for 12-18". That should set them up for a Regaee week with lot's of snow cover.
Reggae weekend up there is something else. I haven’t been in 15 years but man, that mountain knows how to party!
I went to five or six Reggae weekends there and only one had marginal ski conditions.
Some had exceptional conditions. I would imagine they are going to May 1 this year? -

I’ll second what someone else said. The NAM blew the mid level warmth surge forecast last storm. Had sleet/freezing rain up into the white mountains. In reality, only got as far north as knocking on the door of Plymouth. Was off by 25-50 miles up to game time.
Of course, we know it missed that storm but it has done pretty well over the years, sniffing out the warm mid level surge,

It was an epic fail on the last storm up here last week.
Ya’ I know but still, it’s usually one of the few reasons you looks at it in winter.

Anecdotal (for my location), but he RAP and little RAP (HRRR) have absolutely wrecked the 12K and 3K NAM in terms of accuracy this winter.
But with which parameters?
NAM is the go to for mid level warmth surge in these set ups.

I don't expect that...just fun to gawk at and chat about.
I think you and I definitely see 3-5” of snow/sleet. Pain in the ass hitting midweek but you know what, it’s the last hurrah of a shitty winter and I’ll take it.
