  1.  Santa brought some overcast for Christmas today so we didn’t really warm up past upper 30’s.

35F now.     It hasn’t been crazy but certainly a December to remember in N Franklin county.  Almost wire to wire snow cover.

I opted for no clear beers. Hazy for me.

Grabbed Flume^2 from Battery Steele, Weary World Rejoices from Bissell, and Tessellation from Lone Pine. The stockings will be hung by the chimney with care, while lies passed out in his chair...:drunk:

Maine has maybe the best under-hyped craft brew scene in New England.  My niece's boyfriend is head brewer at Foul Mouthed in S Portland.

I loved Hidden Cove when I stopped in back in October.

There is honestly no reason to melt. Every winter has a $hit stretch. We are crushing climo.

Enjoy the holidays and step back.

There is nothing in the long range that screams winter cancel.

Shady side of street is snow covered for me but hippy wins the retention prize!

My neighborhood is fantastic at snow retention, jackpots not so much.

I think what really helped is that although last weeks storm was only five or so inches,  it was high water content stuff so it had some good staying power, especially after yesterday’s thaw and last nights freeze.

    I know I would

I like pond ice and a grinch storm can really F that up no matter how cold it was before or how cold it gets after.  Nothing worse than a layer of punk, honeycomb ice to erode your safety confidence.

Its weird.  For the most part, you would think its somewhat normal around here.  I've had almost continuous snow in my yard sin 11/11 or so, though it did get down to patches after the rain/warmth last week.  The issue for outdoor  activities is depth.  The 3"-4" we got after the melt doesn't cut it for cross country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling etc.  One positive for some activities though is how cold it got after the snow melted, the ground and wet spots have frozen up so the trails will benefit when the snow does build up a bit more

Most winter outdoor activity enthusiasts would probably prefer BN snowfall and BN temperatures as opposed to AN snowfall  interspersed with a high DP  grinch storm.

We were riding the lift this morning with a guy who was at Mt Snow and Loon the last couple of days.  He said they are in decent shape

     Wachusett is in amazing shape.
6-8” OTG in my yard.   Snow covered since Dec 1

My friend in Vermont said Killington and Okemo are OK but could really use a refresher. My friend in North Conway said they definitely need snow up there.   The Alpine skiing is OK it’s the Nordic areas that are hurting pretty badly.
