She gone, And if we get off to a slow start come January, It won't take long to claim a ratter either.

According to my friends up north (NH and VT)  there is already a lot of hand ringing about lack of snow at the ski areas.

How thick do you think the ice is? The smaller ponds around here look solid, I see some open water on some of the larger deep lakes in the area.

Upper 30's today, not much melting, just a little softening of the ice pack, tomorrow should do a number on the pack.

A friend of mine fished Cranberry Pond in Sunderland/Leverett and told me 4" of black ice.  That's pretty solid.  It's also been real cold here this week, today was first day above freezing and it's already back down in the mid-20's.

They have internet.  Just crappy slow stuff.
The state doesn’t install stuff but they can create grants.  That’s how Princeton got it after decades.  That town is pretty $$$ compared to mine but we have had broadband since we moved here in 1998 (I think).
My wife’s school does really well despite having Commodore 64 level internet.  Lol

Western MA has huge high speed internet gaps in the rural towns.

Not a great setup for a widespread hit....I made a few posts earlier in the thread. We're missing the really good LL moisture....we've got plenty of midlevel moisture and steep lapse rates, but the LL moisture a bit lacking for high end event. Also the lift isn't really strong (old school LI spike isn't quite there if using the primitive checklist)....but we'd still have a pretty good event if the LL moisutre was there.

There will still be a few good squals though as we're seeing some intense small cells develop.

Yeah,   Sky’s are pretty dark to my west.

  5. It’s not even Christmas and parts of interior SNE are close to half of their seasonal average.

Time to step way from the emotional cliffs, snow bongs and double IPA’s and let winter unfold.

It’s all going to be ok!
