    Well, upcoming weekend looks like a disaster.

    Just had a 30 second shower so I guess technically it was not a rain free weekend here…

    That part of Vermont kind of went from brown to down. Only a few days of color.

    GFS says rain all weekend, 2-3” for all.

    I question how long Vail will hang on to Attitash? They unfortunately end up being a snow hole of sorts so there is a combo of high ticket prices but marginal conditions. The people I know who have lodging up in North Conway tend to go to either Wildcat or Bretton Woods. Sometimes they just take the 75 minute drive over to Sunday River.

    Classic small New England ski mountain. I've done many a turns there. What a bummer but I'm sure we will see more of this moving forward. It's the economic landscape just as much as the variable winters. Black, Berkshire East, Burke, Wildcat, Magic Mtn, Butternut, Catamount are all great old school areas but walk tight financial lines.

    You have to figure the pattern needs to dry out at some point.

    We saw two fisher cats cross the road up the street from our house. At first I thought gray foxes but then googled an image. They were also darker than foxes and their tails were almost touching the ground.

    It's going to be a narrow band of 1"+ rains from South to North. Saturday, for most in SNE/CNE, looks blah' but not terrible.

    Maybe we tug east a little bit closer to go time?

    Region wide would require a near perfect set-up. Strong low level cold along a stalled front and abundant southerly flow moisture overrunning.
