Hopefully a wet, wild summer. Grand-finale ending with a few bomb EC canes that power through FL/MA/?NE.
It’s going to be a boring summer with bursts of AN heat and humidity. Hopefully less rain than last summer.
Personally, I’m wishing for warm and BN dry.

My kind of wx. Approaching 70 here.
These are the days when the CRV shines.
Warm, sunny and a nice breeze.- 2

I will say, it’s been one of the best forsythia blooms I have seen in years. It seems like every bush around town is blowing out yellow at the same time.

I had a gray squirrel with a red tail under my feeder today. Mixed breeding?
I don’t believe the two species can breed together. Gray and Black can breed but neither can breed with Red if I’m not mistaken.

My wife caught the northern lights in Iceland, she went for 4 days a couple years ago. I'd be happy to visit Alaska even if I missed the lights.
I saw a Northern Lights display in Northern Vermont about 15 years ago that warped my reality. I was up in the Northeast Kingdom and watched towers of swirling green, blue and pink lights that left me and my hiking buddy speechless.

Is anybody making plans for August 2026 in Iceland?
I want to take my kid so I started looking into it last night. It can still be done reasonably but I’m sure prices are going to soar.

Starting next week we may (hopefully) start to Stein for a while.

Beginning of next week may be pretty nice away from the coast. The next 5 days look April like, hopefully we can move the precipitation out by friday night.

My coworker said there’s still traffic coming back from northern Vermont.

Today will probably be the warmest day in the next 10.

Big rains, big, big winds coming
GFS looked kind of meh’ compared to previous runs.

Can already see high-level clouds on the western horizon here. Hopefully we don’t end up with complete cloud cover here this afternoon.

I’m staying here as well. Pulling the kids from school to view it at our local park. They’ll enjoy it regardless of totality percentage.
I know totality is epic but 90% will still be pretty cool.

I don’t think it will be as bad as people think. At least that was my experience in 2017 and today’s drive up had normal flow-late afternoon.
That's good to hear and I kind of agree, the traffic is probably being overhyped by the media and local officials.

Congrats to everyone going North for the full totality. I hope it is even more epic than you think it will be!
I'll be helping chaperone the kids watching from my son's school in W MA. Looks like about 95% totality here.

Saw my first rainbow of 2024 tonight. Ironically, I was cursing the rain shower, because I was doing yardwork and then looked up and saw the colors.
