Congrats CT on the rain. That should get your local DP's cranking.
I'm glad I got just enough to keep the flowers happy.

We picked up about .10” earlier, but I would say there was much more than that just to my south.
At least the flowers will be happy tomorrow.-

This is kind of weird, I just did a mile long walk with the dog and we saw three dead birds in the road, all different species maybe a quarter mile apart.
No obvious wounds or trauma. I wonder if it had to do with the thunderstorm?

Sun finally came out. Now we are cooking. 84/73

I just let the mosquitoes annihilate me at this point. If I haven’t gotten EEE or WNV at this point I must be immune. lol
We are mostly all natural at home with our products and foods but I have embraced using DEET once in a while.
Not the weak sauce, DEET either, I’m talking Deep Woods Off.

There's a couple that want 60 and rain.

Emphatically agree. My brother discovered a dead one in his kid's play area scattered among their stuffed animals/toys and had to do a rabies course for the whole family. Not a pleasant experience. Cost him a couple thousand bucks, and his insurance was billed a couple hundred thousand.
Insurance companies are like crime syndicates.

And put up a bat house. Best bang for your buck.
A single bat eats thousands of insects per night. Fascinating creatures too. I just don't want them in my house. Lol

boring weather in New England, who could possibly have guessed?

It’s equivalent to the northern lights of fireflies right now. I’ve never seen anything like it.
There was either some anomalous population boom this year or one of their predators is underpopulated.

The 4th looks like the coolest day out of the bunch coming up. Probably near 80 and low dews. Otherwise it’s a summery look. Possibly some 90+ weekend after the 4th. After that we trough again and then as I said yesterday, it looks to retro and open up the door to warmer and more humid weather at the end of the 11-15 day.
Great, it’s summer, let’s have swimming weather.

I think that really is, only about a one out of three summers phenomena, in SNE.
Or maybe any season in SNE
July 2025 Obs/Disco ... possible historic month for heat
in New England

I'm fine with missing the heavy precip. Dry it out and settle the stinging insects down a bit. Gardens can always be watered with a hose.
Ensembles look quite warm for mid month without a lot of precipitation. Some of the warmest weather in the US could be in the North East heading into mid-July. Obviously could change.
