  1. I had an econ professor who was a student in Berkeley in the late 60s. He would sometimes stop mid-sentence and start swaying at the lectern and ask us to bear with him because he was having a flashback.
  2. Yeah that was probably it then. Charles river was having problems with toxic algae blooms.
  3. I forget which year it was, maybe '14 or '15, but it was an exceedingly dry period in Boston. The grass was totally fried on the esplanade and the leaves started going brown and falling off the trees in July. Driving up 95 through Waltham by the Cambridge Reservoir was eye opening. Just absurdly low.
  4. The desertification of eastern NE will be a hot topic in coming years. Rolling sand dunes far as the eye can see.
  5. Oh how we pray. I would settle for another Feb '15 though.
  6. They can have all the 3-6" events they want, just give me the 24"+ events.
  7. As we giggle at their snowstorms.
  8. That'll do it. Goodnight, sweet prince.
  9. It's 7:40. How old are you? On an unrelated note, did you get your AARP mailer this week?
  10. We had like 8 degree lapse rates that day and SRH>300.
  11. Man, imagine if that first round of storms hadn't stabilized things a bit. This is impressive to say the least.
  12. Nice change of pace from all the dews talk anyway.
  13. Noticed that a minute ago. Very cool to see.
  14. Yeah that puppy's ripping some trees up in the ADK wilderness.
  15. Yeah mid levels are still pretty warm I think. We'll see what happens when that drier air works in later.
  16. Will be interesting to see what that storm does when it enters the valley. Already has some broad rotation. Edit: Meh. Probably getting ahead of myself. LI is around -5, but still pretty stable at the mid levels. Will wait for that punch of drier air later this afternoon and then see what happens.
  17. Endless cloud debris. Sticky out, but doesn't scream potential to me.
  18. Eh, that early stuff out in NY may spoil this. We'll see.
  19. Finally getting some sun through milky clouds. We destabilize.
  20. Thank you! What was its name? Can't remember for the life of me. Also, imagine the collective terror if you could transplant a storm with that structure 400 miles west.
