  1. Not very often but sooner or later such a scenario is going to play out.
  2. That is my thought too. The people further inland would probably prefer that the GFS solution plays out.To say the least it's going to be fascinating to watch. I know it is very unlikely but it would be great if Florence spared NC/SC/VA and then meandered OTS
  3. Same here. The GFS solution while interesting looks odd. What are the odds of that looping scenario playing out? I want to see what the FV3 shows.
  4. Try calling the Lowe's corporate office. Explain the situation and your health condition to the person you speak with.
  5. I agree. Plenty of time for things to change. And there still is quite a bit of model spread.
  6. I noticed that too when l looked at the latest GFS run. It will be interesting to see if that scenario plays out as modeled.
  7. If Florence finds herself on a path to NE then 2M might be as soon as next week lol
  8. Yes that was the guy on the WC and yes he is predicting a Cat 4...…...lol
  9. Thank you, but thank the Mets who post here far more often than I do. The Mets do a fantastic job of keeping all of us informed/educated by posting their thoughts. I think all of us are fortunate to have the Mets posting here. I would have much rather had one of the Mets make the 1,000.000 post.
  10. Take a look on Craigslist. Another option is yard/estate sales. I have good luck in finding yard tools at yard/estate sales.
  11. OH GOD, at least it wasn't your 25,000th TORCH post...or your 10,000th post regarding window AC units.....or your 20,000th post using "high dews" in a sentence....or your annual posts regarding a redux of 1816.....or even worse one of your childish meltdowns due to the the weather. Hasn't jr high school started yet in Toolland???
  12. The WC is already in overdrive in covering the potential impact from Florence.
  13. The tree service did not grind the stumps. For the time being my neighbor has decided to leave the stumps because she doesn't have the extra money to have them grinded at this time.
  14. All of the trees were uprooted and lying on the ground so there wasn't a need for a crane or climbing. And she and her family had cut a lot of smaller limbs off of the trees. During March/April the tree service companies were price gouging in the Merrimack Valley area.
  15. Certainly an increase in insurance premiums. A neighbor had 7 trees come down on her property during one of the storms in March. One of the trees did some damage to her home. She just received a notice of a rate increase. The other 6 trees had to be removed at a cost(not covered) of $2500. The tree service companies were gouging people.
  16. And Irene still caused hundreds of millions of dollars of damage in NY
  17. I wasn't discussing Florence specifically but there is no doubt that a direct hit from a cat 3/4 would devastate the area. Research the 1938 hurricane.
  18. I agree. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if the area experiences bouts of well above normal temps for at least much of the fall.
  19. That would be amongst the many issues that would have to be dealt with after such a storm.
  20. For the most part there is only 1 person who has continually wished for a category 3/4 to make a direct hit on New England. He has long failed to understand that such a storm would devastate the New England area. The damage to property and to the economy of New England would take many years to repair. The cost to repair both would be in the billions of dollars And the loss of lives and injuries sustained would be far more than people imagine. Life is good as is. Why anyone would want to deal with the aftermath of a direct hit from a category 3/4 is beyond me.
  21. As long as it isn't the 25,000 "TORCH" post...…...
  22. Up until the last few days Wunderground was bringing up Lawrence for my area as the reporting site but the last 2 days it is bringing up Hanscom and Boire NH. Seems odd.
  23. He probably hasn't left CT but he knows the leaf color situation in all of New England. Smartest man in the room...…... #Making Toolland Great Again
