  1. no hype, no false hopes, just daily drivel.....
  2. Anything decent in the NH seacoast area is going to cost at least $500,000. And for the most part the property taxes in NH are outrageous.
  3. Plenty of lake effect snow bands today. Probably the most this winter.
  4. JB calls for a cold and snowy winter prior to every winter. A 3rd grader can do the same and be right as often as JB is. And I am sure JB appreciates you having him on your "like" list.....
  5. Sir we would like to help you but all complaints need to be filed with Mr Joe Bastardi.
  6. The odds of 2015 repeating are very low. That was certainly an hisitoric stretch. I would have to take a look at the 2 volume set of Early American Winters to find comparable stretches of snow accumulation. Certainly 1717 qualifies.
  7. I agree. There might not have been much in the way of snow but it still felt like winter. Winters have changed in SNE and for much of the east coast.
  8. Parts of Pelham and Methuen border each other but Pelham area retains snow better than what Methuen does. I was in Pelham on Saturday and the yards were all snow covered. In Methuen many of the yards were snow free or just had patchy snow. The west side of Methuen is a bit better for retention compared to the east side.
  9. I know many people who haven't even gone up north for skiing so far this winter. Been a tough winter for the ski resorts.
  10. Well you did come up with 4 names!! lol I'll toss JB and DT. JB is always calling for a pattern change to cold and snowy. If JB had been right even 25 percent of the time the east coast would be covered with a glacier.
  11. Hey Moe Hey Larry, will ya look at the GFS.....why you knucklehead that's the ICON....
  12. Awesome comedian!! "I spilled spot remover on my dog and now he's gone"
  13. Have you ever worked for The Psychic Friends Network?????
  14. I think things have always been political to some extent but the difference is the political battles on all topics are front and center today.
  15. I recall reading similar articles. I have family and friends who live in Canada. And all agree that the "pond"" and/or home hockey rink season has become shorter. The city of Lawrence for many years flooded the Playstead to make an outdoor ice skating rink. Often times the skating was good from December into March. I do not recall when the city stopped flooding the Playstead BUT it is very unlikely that the ice rink would be around for as long as it was during the 60's and 70's.
  16. https://boston.cbslocal.com/2019/12/26/warmest-decade-record-for-boston-area-blue-hills-observatory Link to the article by Eric Fisher
  17. The point is climate change is impacting winters as a whole.
  18. The storm tracks during the fall of 19 were similar to the storm tracks for the fall of 18. Storms passing to the west and north. Climate change is impacting the winters in NE. And many of the winter forecasts did not even factor in the record warmth across the northern hemisphere during much of 2019. And many used analog years that are 40-60 years in the past when the climate was different. Eric Fisher wrote a great article on the past decade. It can be found on the WBZ website and on his twitter page.
  19. I watched Kent quite often. One of his biggest busts was for a major snowstorm in Dec 1973. On a Saturday, actually the Saturday before OJ broke the 2000 yard barrier, Kent was forecasting a major snowstorm. My memory is a bit vague but I think he was forecasting 1-2 feet of snow. Come Sunday things had changed. I recall Kent being very disappointed at the turn of events. He loved a really good snowstorm
  20. The internet has been a godsend to many hobbies. Back in the day I would always listen to WBZ radio with the hope that Elliot Abrams would be doing the forecast. He would take the time to explain the possibilities. And he had a great sense of humor. Now much of the detail/info can be found online. Back in the day it was a joy listening to and watching the mets who would go into detail about a storm and/or forecast.
  21. By then it will be 260 years for full benefits lol
