We just started transitioning from the top category to the start of the 5-7 category today. I know it's actually 1-1.5 days early but it's a big signal and models are latching onto it a tiny bit earlier than normal.

The potential for one or even two gigantic systems at the end of the month that modeling is still trying to resolve. Granted, we could be talking first couple days of Feb, but I'd bet against dry for the overall period ending around 2/3. Maybe I'd lose.

Well even this run, it was definitely trying for something bigger than what we've been discussing. It just has zero support from anything else, and is already backing down from 12z. But who knows, I've seen weirder.

So I looked again and I understand what you mean...if all we get is the n/s sw then yeah. But it wanted to bring the low up the coast tuesday evening last run. It will slowly but surely cave on that aspect

It looks worse to me, but that's to be expected given how far outside the model consensus it was.

Navgem is actually where it's supposed to be for once. That's a lot nicer to see than some coastal hugger on it.

The EPS also shows that relaxation after the change of the month that the GFS showed.

It's like southern stream actually goes south far enough to just get out of the way and stop firing shortwaves at us for a quick minute.
