You recall the one last year. I’m not at all. There was l30-40 west of HFD. And posters didn’t believe the damage and 50-60 east . I recall all the posts about the surprise while areas east got ripped. I just dint remember which month it was
Damage from the Grinch storm last year:
Lot's of other examples from that storm too.

And power went out at 1:08AM. Wind has a very light roar to it occasionally.
Standard luck for my road. Any strong sneeze and the power is likely to go out. Ridiculous. -

as cold as things look over the next couple of weeks, one would expect a period of warmth to follow. Hopefully it shifts back to colder the second half of December like the Weeklies show.....
That would be great. Cold now, warm first half of December and then cold again for a chance at a white Xmas down in SNE.
Then the rest of the winter can f*ck off for all I care.

39/34 but almost completely clouded over. Probably have to wait until Thursday AM for first frost.

Anyone know what this is? Saw it on my door this morning and have never seen one before here in CT. Looks like some leaf mimic I saw in the rain forest of Costa Rica?
The doggo made friends with one of these back in September…

Yeah given how warm the fall has been I’m surprised how much has fallen. Maples are pretty much done as well as other species. I’m probably a few days behind you.

Leaf drop is also somewhat based on available sunlight/length of day.

You’re starting to piss me off pal…go stick your records in your a$$. I hope we break every f’n one of em..how’s that grab ya.
And Contrary to what you’re insinuating, I have zero issues with the warm up/or record breaking warm up(that’s not even here yet, yet it’s record breaking lol)as you’re calling it. Today It’s a quintessential autumn day here….52-53 degrees, cool and breezy with partly cloudy skies…feels great.
We’ve been stepping down slowly but surely…And more of that will be here at Halloween or right about then. And BTW, go back in your own pathetic forum.

The housing issue is only getting worse as well.
Supply is certainly screwed and interest rates have jacked up to the moon in lockstep with the Fed’s rate hikes and wild government spending jacking the 10 year yield on govt debt to 4.83% ( mortgage rates are usually 2.5_% or so above the 10 year yield )
Renters aren’t fairing much better .
It’s sort of comical that *House prices and rent had a multi decade relationship / ratio to income * and then in 2005 or so it got unhinged (Thanks to Wall Street mortgage securitization bonanza , the federal reserve buying mortgage backed securities for the better part of a decade after the 2008 housing crash into after Covid hit And it kept getting wider and wider and I believe peaked in early 2022, it hasn’t been able to come down bc new housing supply is so low, nobody wants to sell their home where they are locked in at 3% , institutions buy up substantial supply At premium prices , And lastly unemployment is so low that there are few distressed sellers and now affordability is at record lows bc interest rates went from 3 to 7% and mortgage payments are thus up another 25-30% due to the magic of interest .
Ahh...late stage capitalism. Just wonderful. /s

Nice showers this morning with a few minutes of heavy rain mixed in. And now suddenly the sun is peeking through. Sun doesn't look to last very long as more showers moving up from the south. 64/63

Still snowing......errr, raining down here. Ground has been wet since early Saturday AM.

This is one of those deals you kill for in the winter. Days and days of snows.. and the pivot and ULL just crawls out south of LI.. and the snow that was supposed to stop early morning just continues well into the night. This rain here won’t stop until overnight . And we should be well up over 2”
18-24” with lollis to 30”

Tree down on a house with an active brush fire near the lower CT River right now. Not too breezy but the ground is just saturated.
Lost power about 15 minutes ago. Just light breezes at the moment. Can’t believe both ‘tropical’ systems caused power outages here.
