  1. 100%. I was just gonna say that. Sadly, any storm that amps up throws warm air back into the 'lowlands' making them flip for a period.
  2. NWS did a MUCH better job today, the sun pushed thru clouds this afternoon for a brief time (as forecasted possible) and we zoomed up to 52.0 degrees around 4:30 pm. They called for a 53 high, good call. Currently 48.9/46.7 at 5:45 pm. I like to give kudos when a job is well done since I do rip (as I did yesterday) when a huge fail happens.
  3. 0.30 at the 7 am CoCoRaHS report, looks like another .10 or so since. Temps that were stuck in 30's all day yesterday, overnight and early this morning have pushed up to 41.1 at 11 am as the sun is trying to peek through the clouds.
  4. Or out this way. Cold with a high of -4 and a low of -14. Sheesh.
  5. High was 39.0, down to 37.7/35.5 with rain now. So I ended up 8 degrees colder than the forecast from 7 am this morning.
  6. Still in 30's here at 3:35 pm with clouds and fog/haze. E wind. Was 28.0 overnight, now 38.8/33.9. NWS backtracked all day again, forecast was 47, then 44 now 40 lol.
  7. You're in the 'quiet zone' out that way for the Greenbank Radio Ob. SOME cell service with V (usually on the hills/peaks), goose egg with AT&T.
  8. Yep, give me cold, I'll roll the dice with the precip. In '85 I had a -19 low and the month was a -5 with about 6 inches of snow. No records for me for '77, but as a young teen I remember we had snow OTG for better than 3/4's of the month and boy was it cold! Looking at local CO-OPs, around 8-10 inches of snow for the month and around a -12 on temps.
  9. Rt 39 at Marlinton from Rt 219 (or Huntersville if you came down Rt 28 or 92 at Minnehaha Springs) east would have taken you back to Lexington. Two lane road (as most are out this way) but very pretty drive. Rt 92 down to White Sulphur is about 30 minutes from the turn-off of Rt 39 at the state line, then you'd been on 64 E to Lexington.
  10. Stayed above the freezing point overnight here, currently 35.1/32.7 and cloudy on this Christmas morning.
  11. Just finished A Christmas Story and Christmas Vacation, time for a nap. Wishing all a safe and Merry Christmas!
  12. Low of 12.4 degrees, currently 13.5/11.2 at 8 am.
  13. 19.7/10.0 at 9:30 pm. A toasty 73.5 degrees upstairs and an extra toasty 86.3 degrees downstairs. The woodstove chugging along.
  14. 31.5 high around 3:30 pm after the 13.3 low this morning. Currently 28.8/9.5 with clear skies.
  15. Down to 13.3 for a low here. Chilly.
  16. So, you're talking a 30% increase possible? (as he eyes his 32 inch total from Jan 6-8 1996)
  17. Although I only have several 'T's' for snow this month, running about a -2 for temps, feels like Decembers of past. LOVE to have a repeat of this, I went digging when the 2009 thread came back up- my December 2009
  18. Had a mix of snow and rain earlier this morning, no accumulation. Currently 34.0/32.1.
  19. 30.3 low after a 59.3 high. The 59.3 high was nowhere near the record of 67 from 1984. 2006 was quite warm too at 63.4 degrees.
  20. That was a COLD week, had 6 out of 7 mornings below zero, with the 19th at -15. Bonus was the 4-6 inches of snow/ice OTG during that week.
  21. LOL, light rain falling again, 40.0/38.9. We did get a few hours window just before sunset where it was just foggy/misty.
