  1. Meanwhile, 3 1/2" of rain imby and 5-6" in some areas in the past two days will wipe out the "abnormally dry" status in northeastern Indiana/northwest Ohio.
  2. The area's rainfall forecast maps look like an advisory level snow forecast except it's inches of rain.
  3. Our NWI posters need to head up to the Indiana Dunes area and get some video of the 10-14 ft. waves crashing onto shore tomorrow.
  4. Mother Nature is complying with the calendar for Northeast Indiana. We have enjoyed a prolonged stretch of much above normal temperatures and even yesterday and today was/will be in the upper 70's. However, the autumnal equinox tomorrow will bring highs only reaching the upper 50's with the cold through/closed low (depending on your model of choice) and not much recovery until Friday afternoon. Welcome to fall 2021.
  5. Grass was getting cooked here. Close to an inch of rain with tonight's line of storms cured that. A real nice evening of rain, some boomers, and a lot of crawlers.
  6. It's been the opposite here. A couple of barely normal, a couple duds. The odds are working in our favor in northeast IN.
  7. LOL at the area between the two Watches getting raked
  8. I thought Roger Edwards put out a top notch outlook this morning (as usual), but I also see what you are saying about underplaying the threat.
  9. In the midst of this putrid severe weather year for most of the country, anecdotally, WI and MI seem to cashing in.
  10. I don't have a clue about what happened, but sorry to hear that you're not a mod anymore. I for one am thankful that you will still be posting, as you are one of the more educated, level-headed posters here. I've learned a ton from you over the years.
  11. Kind of a meaningless stat, but interesting to me, every day of August hit at least 80° at IND. Today was the first day it failed to reach 80 since 7/31.
  12. I'm willing to hold off until October on that.
  13. You know it's boring weather when the long term forecaster at IND is discussing the wind speed forecast for day 5.
  14. Although we are not even in a D0, the grass is beginning to turn brown in this area.
  15. Alek barely made it out alive. https://www.nbcchicago.com/weather/possible-meteotsunami-reported-at-navy-pier-during-thursdays-severe-weather/2571558/?_osource=SocialFlowTwt_CHBrand
  16. I don't remember ever seeing haze in my point forecast. Today Widespread haze after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 78. Calm wind becoming northeast around 5 mph in the morning. Tonight Widespread haze before 9pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 60. North wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.
  17. I forgot to throw this up here this morning. Allen County got hammered last night. Also, numerous funnels were reported in the area this afternoon.
