  1. Similar to you. Was 95 in Alexandria. .
  2. Just moved out of downtown DC after nearly 10 years. Got a sweet little cape cod just south of Alexandria. Probably going to be a contributor to deck pics coming this winter (with or without snow) Until then, enjoying this nice little thundershower. .
  3. Sounds great. If I wasn’t planning a three day backpack trip there in June I’d go. Pondering a Jeep ride up this weekend. May head to spruce knob area. .
  4. Overlooking Capitol Hill from Navy Yard
  5. Looking west across the Potomac now. You can see the line approaching. .
  6. List of winters that ended with a bang in March. Posted by regional NWS today. “Our winter has been nearly snow-free, but March can pull a fast one on us. In DC, March was the snowiest month of the winter in 1888, 1890, 1891, 1896, 1914, 1923, 1924, 1932, 1937, 1938, 1941, 1942, 1943, 1950, 1953, 1960, 1969, 1993, 1994, 1999, 2009, 2013, 2014, 2017 and 2018.” .
  7. I go to Canaan twice a winter on purpose to get my fix.
  8. Random thought but curious if there’s any relationship between a strong PV and annual sea ice extent.
  9. Woah! Holy cumulus in February. Looking north from Capitol Hill. .
  10. Neat. I’d take a surprise flake. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  12. We’re seeing the same. Been on going in 20024 for 45 to an hour now.
  13. I thought it was lightning but no strikes showing on radar in that direction. I could be wrong but don’t know what else it would be. Clear view of the horizon.
  14. Can see transformers blowing looking to the west.
  15. Oh hello Slight Risk! ...Northern VA and vicinity this afternoon... A small thunderstorm cluster and diffuse MCV will move eastward from the eastern WV Panhandle across northern VA/MD this afternoon. Surface heating in advance of this minor wave will contribute to moderate buoyancy (MLCAPE near 2000 J/kg), and some loose clustering of storms is expected this afternoon. Steep low-level lapse rates and DCAPE near 1000 J/kg will favor occasional downbursts with some potential for wind damage.
  16. From last evening. Looking north from SW DC. .
  17. Mini split. But it was a split. Drops and a few gusts downtown... .
  18. Read that down-sloping would limit initiation for a while until closer to i95 corridor. HRRR lights up in next 2-3 hours.
  19. I mean, kind of makes work break, radar checking kind of fun though. Right?
  20. That is and always will be my definition of hell.
