    Let’s dissect the 96-97 impression. Good warning event early in December. Cold first 3 weeks of January with some decent snow including a nice unexpected 6-9 around 1/7, February extremely warm and nearly snowless. March cold and snowy as was April. You can cherry pick all you want but it’s silly. Because of the December snows and the epic April fools blizzard, it was not a ratter. Fact.

    Pretty common actually to have snow and cold September onwards. Heck, the coldest temperatures I experienced in the 2014-15 winter were in Denver around Veterans Day.

    Highest and lowest point in the continental US within 150 miles of each other. The Central Valley is capable of feeding the entire nation. Spectacular geography. Yes LA and San Francisco are ridiculously traffic laden. That said, San Francisco is among earths most beautiful cities. Nevertheless, I’m perfectly happy in New England having spent 15 years in California.

    The whole SAI seems a bit contrived. If it’s high but there’s loss from pattern in the first few days of November October goes good? What if 10/4-11/4 is great but 9/27-10/27 sucks? To me it’s a bit silly and Judah’s verification has take a beating in some recent years correlating SAI negativity with AO.

    Whoever comes up with the technology to bury wires without huge cost will cash in. It’s out there somewhere.

    Losing power is a big deal. People depend on electricity and some need it reliable for medical devices, etc. we as a society need to spend the $$ it takes to have underground wiring.

    Interesting in that there wasn’t much in the way of debris aside from a lot of leaves seen from my house to work in Jamaica Plain.
