  1. I’m here. My FIL is at end of life. That’s why we’re here. Every time he requires something only a hospital could do acutely, he worries about being admitted. My answer is don’t worry-they need all the beds they can have. It’s a shit show here... That said, it does have a vibe of normality. We’re staying with my wife’s sister and family-lots of room and both of us with negative tests before arriving. My sister in laws bday is Saturday and she’s expecting to have an outdoor gathering Sunday with expected temperatures in the 50s. Hopefully my FIL will still be here but no way could he tolerate 50s in his current condition. Doubtful this comes off. Sad times in the family. We want to get our daughter here but it may not work out with the pandemic going wild and her caregiving job in VT for which she’d most assuredly need to quarantine for upon her return.
  2. Heinsohn gone-part of my childhood. I remember going to a basketball clinic at the old Madison Sq Garden with Bob Cousy and his youthful assistant Tommy Heinsohn. I was about 10-12 years old. A true renaissance man-accomplish graphic artist and of course great athlete and all around interesting character. RIP.
  3. We were on a walk and got in just in time! Is it august?
  4. Legit cold snap next week I’m the guidance
  5. And we had a nice snow in March but I remember skiing at Nashoba Valley a couple of days later with really warm temperatures. Katy Lied was blaring through the loud speakers. Fun times!
  6. I was walking one night last year and I heard the howls. Decided to pack it in and go home...

  8. I remember standing outside of Steve’s Ice cream original Somerville location in mid January 1976 with a line around the block with temperatures neat 0. We had 12+ about a day later.
  9. After a deep freeze last week I expect to be mostly bare by next week. Some of the trees in the woods were leafed but our property was dropping nicely when we left last Thursday.
  10. We’re in Chicago but the landscaping lady wants to know whether it’s this week or next week cleanup. No brainer-next week. We’re back probably by the Monday before thanksgiving.
  11. “A lie goes halfway around the world before the truth sees daybreak”. Not sure of the exact words of the last sentence but you get the idea. Lying is more effective. If you have someone with the ability to lie and not at all be bothered internally they can make many believe them.
  12. First half of November departures are going to be off the charts!
  13. Buuittt-you can have RNA with good ridging in AK. EPO is the king of cold. NAO is the king of snow?
  14. Did you mean heifer? As in GOAK heifer vs pig? Or is Heffer something else?
  15. You quake weenies need to experience a bog one. I was scared on bridges and underpasses the first 10 years after I returned from California.
  16. Definitely warm in early December. We had a snow event the first Saturday of the month and then mid month. Around 12/23 we had an inland runner dump 2-3 inches of rain amd the pattern changed to fun with the first of the siggy snows 12/28.
  17. Incidentally I remember November 1993 reaching near 80 at BOS about a week before thanksgiving. Leon played and we had 3 months of fun late December onward.
  18. Outdoor pizza and beer at a cute joint in highland park,IL. ridiculously warm but the extreme heat ends this week.
  19. We’ll find out. Tonight’s words are good imho.
  20. My daughter has had at least 6 tests in VT. With every one the results are within 24 hours. My wife and tested last Monday in the Boston area-negative results in 3 days. I think VT is doing better than you think.
