  1. As long as we’re discussing dogs, our beloved golden retriever is now 13 and all things considered doing well. She has accompanied me over peaks and through woods and swam together in lakes. Our daughter was 9 when we got her at 3 months old. She grew up and is away from us most of the time but our dog is the most faithful and affectionate companion ever! We aged together but dogs age much quicker. So while we can walk a mile together still she is unable to do longer walks or hikes. It will be a sad day when she leaves us.
  2. I remember it well. All started with a sweep of Detroit at the stadium. Tigers were also having an amazing season. The Friday night game was won on an infield hit by Mickey (edit-it was Moose). By mid month Detroit was far behind. 5 game easy WS against the reds. The 1961 Yankees were an amazing team. I went to as many games as possible. Bus to NYC then A train express to 145th. Switch to local and get off at 155th and take the D to 161st in thee Bronx. I remember one game Maris hit his 51st and 52nd and Mantle also went deep. City was electric. We get on the bus back to Jersey and the bus driver and passengers getting the details. Fun times. That team was a juggernaut. This year somehow everything seems to be falling together and I’m not sure how but I’ll take it.
  3. I wouldn’t mind summer rolling on until Halloween. My exercise is high this summer and I’m hoping to keep it going. Getting back into shape.
  4. Start Labor Day, end mid June, crimp 1-2 days from each break. Agree ac is the solution. It’s not 1960 anymore.
  5. In this day and age classes without ac and windows that won’t open are ridiculous. No one will learn. Either AC the schools or start after Labor Day.
  6. That’s our typical summer bill. About $100 less winters. Eversource
  7. For trucks US rocks. For cars they tend to be inferior.
  8. Cash. Tapped the HELOC. 21000 miles in 36 months which includes 4 trips to Chicago.
  9. Speaking of cars, I bought my car at the end of the lease. It’s worth 10k more than the balance to keep it. It took a long time to get the title. Seems like auto companies (in this case Honda) are inundated with these transactions. Heading to registry today finally.
  10. You have to figure out a way to put an accent over that last e before that gets interpreted the wrong way.....
  11. What a strong rain earlier tonight! Now we bake.
  12. I remember Edna of course from NNJ as a very wet blow which makes sense. Hazel made landfall in NC but NYC still managed a gust to 113.
  13. We’ll both teams are off tomorrow so I guess they flip off days. People with tickets who work tomorrow get screwed.
  14. What’s the total # without power as of now?
  15. Well in fairness to the public psyche onset was delayed by hours so people started sniffing a bust. It came on as a wall of snow and didn’t let up before 20-30 was down, 30-40 in some spots. We all have disappointments in life and I will go to my grave having moved to LA the previous winter and missing the signature Boston blizzard of the 20th century..
  16. January 78 was a bust. We were supposed to get rain.
  17. The bust was the fact that the January 78 record preceding its being broken in February was supposed to be as rain storm.
  18. looks to me like some in NNE should be getting a deluge this afternoon.
  19. It seems more westerly vs north because radar naturally shows the best echo development NW of the center. Almost an optical illusion. Track from the center and try to filter out the rest and you’ll have a better fix.
