Big picture-not alot of change in today's guidance. But I"m kind of astounded that people are crying over 12/7-8. We have to get some snow to calm weenies down!

Yeah after reading the posts I eventually looked at GEFS and they certainly looked wintry enough. Block is further south but at the same time the EPO has less amplitude so it could be a wash. I suspect we’d be fine with a gradient. Not sure about a big dog.

Yeah number 3 kind of. limits us to recent decades of the internet but it's pretty important to me as well.

Marine puke from NAO. We saw it in late December 1995. With a strong snowpack we had several days of low to mid 40s for highs, 30ish nights until the reload right around New Years that eventually gave us the big January storm that produced very heavy snow BOS-southward with a Philly jack of 30 inches. I think BOS got around 19-20. I went xc skiing in the arboretum the day of the storm before snow started. Temps in the high teens, deep snow cover-it was heaven.

So there’s 3 ways I judge events. 1. How did I do? 2. What is the region wide effect. Since I didn’t experience 78 but it shut down our area for a week I’d lean 78. However, you got more snow by a big margin vs me in 2001.

As I recall I asked about the elephant in the room-the antecedent 38 degrees in caribou. People shouted me down but outside of far SW CT-it was a rain storm for all of us

One of my favorite storms as a 14 year old! Heavy snow and 10 degrees. Kicked off an amazing winter.

The big changes in all the op models came with last night's 0Z runs. Now it's almost within a week. Here we go!

Watching the GEFS roll in (now out through 288) it is a big step towards the 12Z EPS. Almost identical or at least very close. 0Z has not disappointed so far. CMC op is similar to GFS OP and GEPS looks good as well. I will go to sleep before EPS tonight.

They upgrade all the time and while it’s on beta it’s called para. Typically it becomes the op eventually.
