Chunky raindrops ongoing in what is now approximately the 4th round of showers/storms here since yesterday.
-
That storm around 2am was in a different tier. Angry, growling thunder and lightning. Definitely one of the more electrical storms I've seen since moving to Frederick. We really don't need any more rain right now in this area and, frankly, I need my trails back so I can shed a few lbs lol.
Looks like even more activity rolling in. Just got a shoot around session in and it is indeed a supreme level of humidity outside.

That line that I thought would not hold is slamming the back of the house right now. The lightning on it alone is intense. Wind driven rain.
lol it’s an absolute fireworks display rn-

Well that was slightly anticlimactic. Looked all robust rolling in only to do the split that my area is known for. Did pick up .22” so far but all the fury of what was coming in the energy shifted to my North with a new storm to my South near Point of Rocks.
Nearby rain gauges are over 0.5” here, but I think I just missed the lightning core. The peaks and valleys really do adjust systems on approach here. Can never really tell what kind of storm we’re getting until gametime.-

Just took the trash out and wow the lightning. Looks like a crazy storm blowing in.
Nothing severe here, but the creeks will definitely be higher tomorrow morning. Healthy nighttime storm.-

Eerily calm here with only a light breeze and thunder now rumbling over the Catoctins.
-
Yep, starting to see lightning in the distance.
-
the approaching storm was just warned for radar indicated 60 mph winds.
This one looks legit on lightning radar, too. It’s on a beeline for mby. -
Feels tropical outside and I’m interested in that line of activity moving towards Hagerstown, though it’s got a bumpy road ahead before it makes it to Frederick.

This is “bring two shirts to the bball court” weather.

I can sense the warm front is closer than yesterday but we are experts at cad, so it may take some time to erode. Hopefully by mid afternoon there’ll be peaks of sun up this way.

Don't worry, our summers are now July-October :).
I could really use a nice stretch of sunny days. Constant threat of clouds/rain is getting old. My girls are trying to get in their championship game but the weather isn't cooperating.
lol, there does seem to be a subtle shift in the seasons the last few years. I could use some Vitamin D even if it comes along with 90 degree weather. I think the trails could use a breather as well.

I almost bet on Indiana in 6. Starting to think that not doing so was wise.

Well get plenty of it starting tomorrow afternoon. Soon, people will beg for a cool, cloudy day.
Not me. At this point, I’m just hoping for 2 months of summer. -
I miss the sun
This is an objectively horrendous weather pattern for mid-June.-

Parr's Ridge is a force. It could be dry on my commute to Columbia and then a sprinklefest as I pass Mt. Airy.
-
Radar around dc looks prime. Frederick? I will accept the light rain showers and look forward to the warm front lifting north.

When does summer start?

*Northern Lowlands
Sun popping out here and windows are fogging up. Tropical out there.
Got a little warmer here than I expected. Sun has finally made its appearance, though certainly not a blue sky kinda day. The lower visibilities are apparent when looking south towards Sugarloaf (which I can hardly see) and w/nw to the Catoctin's.

Looks like Frederick about to finally get in on this.
Getting clipped here. Looks like it’s hitting the Catoctin wall -
Turned into a gorgeous day. The haze has really thinned out this afternoon. Summer is the goat.

Fairly decent blue skies in downtown Baltimore looking west at the moment. Not all that smoke hazy yet over this way to my eye anyway.
It's not too bad, but definitely doesn't look like the HHH type of hazy.

Thought I had a bunch of ticks on my car yesterday after parking at Gambrill, but I think they're actually Weevils. I didn't know that was even a thing. This is gonna be one of those summers where the bugs are out and having a good ol' time.
