Lol. I'm out of the summer touch at the moment. 84/62 is kicking my butt for some reason... probably due to the extended cool period. I'm screwed aren't I. :(

It takes a little adjustment, but this weather is so much more versatile.

This is from yesterday, but today it is still similiar. Goes from Manitoba to almost Northern FLA.

I don't know if it's my allergies acting up or phantosmia playing tricks on me, but a couple times today I could smell a faint "smoky" scent, similar (but to a lesser extent) to what we experienced 2 years ago.

  3. I’m a summer baby, bring on the heat!

Samesies lol. And I get “crabbier” about colder weather as I get older. But I will say…the temps are a bit nicer than I expected today…was expecting chilly (thank you, June).
  4. Was just about to say that. Looks like smoke aloft this morning.

It looked like it on satellite, so I checked out LWX and they mentioned it as a possibility. Not sure if the current sat loop is showing smoke or high clouds or a mix of both, but HRRR vertically integrate smoke loop shows a swath of it to the west.
  5. Looks like this will ultimately be a bit of a bust up here.  Had one round just move through and one last batch moving through now before the lull (not really expecting much from the wraparound stuff).  Looking forward to the summer-like weather next week.

The more northern track of the surface low likely reduces the flash flood threat for most of us, but it definitely increases the severe threat.  Surface winds may end up too light, but if they’re not, some of the morning guidance does show enough turning in the low levels to generate favorable hodographs.  The 12z HREF reflects this with a notable increase in the probabilities for good UH values into the DC/Baltimore region, relative to earlier guidance, and I would not be surprised if the 1630 outlook brings the 5% TOR further north.

Our region is an upper level low repellant, especially in the winter.  I'm just glad we'll get at least scraped by this system.

  7. I hope that you found a paved trail to ride and stayed off the roads. People are crazy on a sunny and dry day.

I just ride a loop in my neighborhood. There’s one punchy hill that sorta mimics some of the mtb hills I ride. I’ve been doing that more so out of convenience so far this year, but I have experienced a couple of drivers that make me question whether they have a legitimate license.

My gardens have been extra happy this year.

It's been a soaker here all day.  Decided to bike in this slop (wfh day) partly to test my tires on wet pavement and it felt like I was riding through Atlantic Ocean mist.

  9. I'm sad...that dude in Frederick can't play basketball much this week

Don’t be, I played some Fri, Sat and Sunday. Sunday was interesting…played 3s on a ~9’8 hoop. My body could use a couple days off, though next week’s forecast has me intrigued.

Colder anomalies lessen in the East during the day 6 to 10 period. Upper lows continue both in the East and the West. A slow pattern change should begin after this time period. Precip pathways indicate gulf moisture transport possible towards early to mid June.

  11. I thought it was going to be sunny and 75 today? Looks socked in with clouds and even a few showers this morning.

This is one of those few times where Frederick is actually sunny while everywhere else to the south is cloudy. Satellite imagery is wild rn

  12. It’s nice out, but we’ve had to fight off some periodic clouds and wind the last couple days, though that’s normal in cool weather patterns around here.

I’m definitely ready for summer-like weather.
