  1. Enjoy this day outside before rain returns later Tuesday. Another inch + on its way.

On the bright side, the rain might keep allergies at bay. I’m expecting an uptick in pollen again.

Looks like nicer weather might not return until Saturday or Sunday.  Glad I got out and enjoyed the temps yesterday while they lasted.

I was hoping it would be by Saturday.  I think I'm gonna cave soon and get a hoops sesh in anyway.

Well the 40s does.  The clouds and rain return Wednesday

The rain puts a damper on my biking, but I can fit in hoops around mild temps and rain.  What I don't want is 40s/low 50s and wind.  I've graduated from that.  The main thing we need to be weary of are those lumbering upper level lows through the GL and northeast.  That's a recipe for cloudy/cool/breezy.

  4. It wants to be cloudy so badly, but so far it's been a pretty nice start to the day.  Looks like we're in and out of sun for the remainder of the day, but that's an improvement over the "tropical remnants" type of a pattern we had all week.

  5. Today is a classic day where areas closer to the mountains will probably more clouds than areas further east. I “chased” the sun into work today from Frederick to Columbia.

  6. Potomac near Brunswick high but within its banks as I end my train ride home.  Wonder if the wet spring will set us up for tropical flood threats later this summer.

The creek next to Hamburg Rd in the Watershed is flowing thick rn. Might be the most active I’ve seen it. I think we’re good on rain for a bit.
  7. Looks like this thing is racing east. Might be all she wrote for any flooding or severe issues today.

This system has come in waves. Looks like another round maybe this afternoon, but I’m assuming more scattered.
  8. Holy crap! Whole house just shook from this storm. Woke Mr. J up and the cat jumped off the bed.

I missed that one…I was out like a light lol. Looks like 12-2 is when those cells moved through with another 0.5-1”…with another round incoming. Healthy system.
  9. 2.54 " March total rainfall. This is only 72% of normal.
A rather remarkable statistic:   8 of the past 8 Marches have been drier than normal in my area. 100% dry in March during the past 8 years!!
7 of the past 8 winters have had below normal snowfall.
87% of the time during the past 8 years, low winter snowfall precedes a dry March west of the Blue Ridge.
The last wet March was 2015. During the winter of 14/15 I had above normal snowfall.
Before that, March of 2014 was wet. I also had above normal snowfall for the 13/14 winter!!!!!!!!!!!!

The jet stream has been too far north. My concern is drier summers. Tbd
