  1. high of 66 after low of 62. socked in clouds all day- it is a bit chilly. but still no rain - day 42 without measurable rain here. The drought is up and down from here to NYC (drove this past weekend) and corn crops all up and down 81/78 are dried up.

  7. 26th day in a row without rain. The leaves on the tree's are drying up, yellowing and dropping. Especially around here. Slightly further sound (fort mill / monroe) where I visited this weekend- not as bad as they did have a few downpours a few weeks ago but starting to dry there too. This ridge has staying power- looks like til at least 10/4 86/63 now - with just a few clouds
  8. It is extremely dry down here. all of the trees leaves are yellowing, drying up and dropping to the ground. Most of the grass along the highways are brown. 26th day in a row here without a drop of rain. Looking forward to visiting Long Island between 9/29 and 10/5 & getting a wiff of that sea breeze again

  11. Being from NY, i am enjoying the extended summer. I always felt (living up there) that summers were way too short. With that said, I am not enjoying this dry spell. 20th day in a row with no rain IMBY

  15. It started I think in 2005. 2005 was an extreme warm September at least where I was in NY

  17. A few years ago, my wife and I were in the city and my car got towed. It was 2AM. We're like "where did they tow it to?" My wife said "look there's a dunkin right there, let's go inside and check". We went inside, and wouldn't you know it, there was a few cops in there and we got the information

  21. That feeds into the skepticism. Quick to label an extreme weather event as a result of AGW. Take the NYC record of straight 90 degree days from August 24th to Sept 4th 1953. That is an astonishing record for the area - and - time of year. If that record TIED today, I have a feeling the science community will be quick to label it as a result of AGW.
