Nice heavy band now, flake quality much better.

You northern folks whining about no snow yet...you are going to get double what we lowlanders get down south....stop the whining, you will soon be winning as we get sleet and rain first

Anyone have a solid radar they recommend for rain / snow line? Still think places well inland from the major metros hang onto sleet / ice for a solid 4-6 hour period.
4-8” is a good call for the western burbs. 8” by skinsfan, 5-6” for myself and Bobchill in MoCo/HoCo and 3-4” near the metros

In a subsidence between heavier bands setting up to north and south, poor flake quality, its noisy snow, heavily rimmed, like sand, not sleet. Good news is roads have caved.

Coming down hot and heavy, temp 30, do 28. Ground covered roads wet

Not entirely. The D.C. snow hole is real!
Check the Dover radar, no snow hole over us

is it me or is there an enormous snow hole/circle over Anne Arundel, Montgomery, Howard, PG, and DC rigt now. God is laughing at us.
Has to do with the angle of the radar beam, notice the center of the hole is where the LWX radar is located. Try a different (higher) beam angle and the hole shrinks. Happens every snow....

Getting the super rare southern deathband! Why can’t we get this with a juiced up Miller A....enjoying this immensely though, take and savior what we get!

Brilliant, as the radar blossoms south of 66!

Super band sinking south. Legit SN, beautiful fluffy flakes. Champaign powder FTW!

This is a nice little event, will hold me over for the coming torch. I am just happy I didn’t go 0 for 3 this week. Temp 19 with light snow continuing, maybe a quarter inch so far.

Roads coated, beautiful pixie dust and some bigger flakes. The flakes are so light they barely want to fall, they just want to float.

So far, maybe...but 99 times out of 100 you will always have more. By the end of this year you will probably have double my total! Enjoying my heavy snow right now.
