    Its ripping now, visibility 1/4 of mile. Everything that was cleared, is snow covered.

    The incoming band has been inentsifying the last hour, not going to shut down the city but the pattern appears very favorable, expecting good things tomorrow afternoon. 4.5 Downers Grove.

    Models did well with the incoming band, lets see how they do with tomorrows setup.

    Still snowing and winds have increased significantly. Saw two accidents happen yesterday, typical snow fender bender and another in the ditch. Widespread win for this board, the Monday system looks more likely to over achieve than under, liking the trends on the latest cycle.

    Heavy snow is ahead of schedule(wasnt looking good earlier), math is in our favor to hit double digits after that last uptick and it looks good upstream. I will be on the move shortly, will see how the afternoon goes. Congrats to the board , I know its been a tough, I sense PTSD, lol.

    Its all snow covered now, an hour ago streets were wet. We have some ground to make up to get to my 9 inch prediction. Im looking for 3 by noon and that should get us to 9. Rates to the west arent that impressive yet so need this afternoon to not start with the usual bumps in the road.

    I like the aggressiveness, 11.7 Schaumburg would mean a big win for Downers Grove, bring it. 11.7 48 hours ago would have been a big stretch but here we are with a decent chance of hitting that number.

    I'm in Tampa on a layover, ORD this afternoon and then hunker down. We need Saturday afternoon to deliver an inch an hour to get us 9+. If we can get 3 by noon .5/hr for 6 hours we will be in good shape.

    Upping my 7.5 Downers Grove prediction to 9 just for Baum who is right down the road. We got this Baum, 9 and a decent possibility of overachieving. Just have to watch the euro, its not giving up on the more northerly route of the low and Euro AI has the low a tick farther north than the Euro OP.

    Eye candy that won't materize, GFS does this in the tropics on a regular basis. Heavy rain at my place ahead of a cold front, last rain and 80s I will see for a few days. I'm holding my 7.5 prediction for Western burbs. One more shot to adjust tomorrow.

    And the tropical forum, it was a slow season, so we have to find a gfs/euro battle somewhere. Sticking with my 7.5 prediction for my visit to Downers Grove starting tomorrow. We have to watch the Euro-AI, its been consistent on a surge of 32+ air Sunday morning, Euro has the surge farther east. For now, looks like enough cold air in place to keep it frozen north of Kankakee. The system will be a win for many.

    Looking good on this cycle for the western suburbs, my 7.5 prediction from earlier might need modifications tomorrow.

    I arrive Friday afternoon, moved it up a day. Saturday morning 6 am-the flakes better be flying and the green grass disappearing. IKK can keep the freeze line there, no further north please. EURO-AI is troubling into sunday morning.

    EURO AI is more promising, keeping the freeze line farther south. It's a favorable setup to keep snow plows busy.

    Moved up the flight to Friday to get ahead of the system. What does it mean? Dusting at best but cold rain likely. Best outcome: overachiever with 12+

    Also can take more precip, refer to Flash Flood Guidance. The terrain causes extra problems..8 inches of rain in NC is very different than Sofla.
