More cold to start the month of May off. Wouldn't be surprised to jump into summer in a couple weeks.

Details mainly for entertainment due to it being a cold outlier: The 12Z Euro is its coldest run yet in the SE for early next week and is significantly colder than the 12Z GFS (both meaning it is likely too cold) with 0C 850s getting just about down to here and a low of 39 at ATL on 4/24 along with several inches of upslope snow in the mountains along the TN/NC border this weekend into early next week.
Despite it likely being too cold, a BN pattern would be supported for then especially by a preceding sub -3 AO (lowest since December) and MJO phase 1. A dropping NAO probably helps, too, although by April correlations of -NAO to cold in the deep SE on average drop significantly vs March per charts. Even after then, the GEFS has a pretty strong +PNA for at least a few days very late this month. That could allow for still another cool/mild (BN and low dewpoints) shot of Canadian air then.Called this over the winter

Move to civilization
You declared "winter over" now I have to move for it to be over? Your meteorology knowledge is just as bad as your geography. I'm less than an hour from clemson university, 30 minutes from the casino, and an hour and 20 minutes from the mall of Georgia.

I hope you go into hibernation this warm season and wake up again in November. You clearly can’t accept that spring is a real thing and it is here.
You couldn't be more wrong. I actually look forward to spring weather every year. My daughters play softball on the H.S and middle school teams, as well as travel. So I'm at the ball field everynight and almost every Saturday. My business picks up during spring and does well during the summer and fall. So I look forward to warm weather for the obvious reasons mentioned. I'll actually pass on the low of 22 we has this morning, as well as the 20s forecasted for this weekend.

If people were being honest with themselves, they’d accept that it’ll be April in two weeks and this is over. It’s time to switch seasons and thinking.
How does one simply flip a switch and go straight to warm weather. The last 3 low temp readings here have been 24, 24, and 22 this morning?

What Met1985 said. This is literally a wx forecasting discussion thread. Why wouldn't we discuss this stuff, especially with it being so different from almost the entire winter and potentially highly anomalous for mid March? It is what it is. Besides, this discussion may allow some people to prepare for the cold to mitigate potential damage.
Stop discussing wx on a wx forum! This is only a place for some spoiled individuals to whine

If it’s not going to snow, I seriously cannot fathom why you’d want it to be cold and dry when it’s supposed to be Spring.
Some of us will take any type of dry at this point. 70 and sunny is preferred but I'll take 30 and sunny over mud

I checked my climo. In April, we average 73 degrees. It’s not snowing. No one lives in Franklin.
Glad we don't live there! Apparently it doesn't snow in winter in Raleigh either. Unfortunately, too many people live in Franklin.

That’s good if you like cool rain. It’s not 1962. You’re not getting snow in April. I, like most sane people, prefer Spring and being outdoors.
Might want to check climo before making bad posts. Most of us (especially the mtns) average more snow in April than November

This has been one of the most inactive winters for the Blue Ridge mountains that I've ever experienced. We have crops, plants, and bulbs emerging up here. It's crazy!

I kinda figured this may happen. It would’ve been too nice for the ridge to do ridge things when people would actually want it to.
Time for 30's and blowing snow for March and April. Just went you don't want it and it's a nuisance

RAH now has my forecast high up to 89 degrees for Thursday. Not only would this shatter the daily record high, but also the highest temp EVER recorded for RDU for the entire month (84). If we broke the record high for the month by 5 degrees, this would have to be one of the most dramatic smashing of a monthly temp record ever for the site.
Also, with no mitigating factors for a record high temp event in central NC Thursday, another very important record may be in jeopardy: first 90 degree day. The earliest first 90 degree temp at RDU is March 12. This would shatter that record set in 1990.
Seriously impressive heat for mid-late February coming this week in a historic early season heat wave
Seems high...even Toccoa GA has a forecast of 80.
