    Euro has a gradient flow with a lot of potential for overrunning events. Models don't always see them until a couple days in advance. Euro attempts one Tuesday and one Friday,. These are the kind of events that pop out of nowhere in good patterns.

    Good job on the 144hr forecast Euro. Think it might have overamped the flow a bit?

    Quite an odd looking 500mb map. Actually has the polar vortex bent in a way it could phase and form a major storm.

    Euro has a great lakes low but we still get a quick 4-8" and don't changeover. Going to blow around quite a bit with a 960 low in the gulf of ME

    I think that one man is the DC metro right now. We never quit. We got 3-5" and are hell bent on making it 3.25"-5.25"

    Yes DC and Philly know how to screw up Miller Bs. Philly maybe able to pull off a few inches more tonight and tomorrow.

    So pretty much a bust in Boston, Philly and DC but NYC is in the 15-20 range

    The only way you get a band to stall that much is topographic enhancement.

    That should clear it up. I think all of SW CT is around 15-17" now. The 1251 BDR ob looks above surrounding areas. Might have been a drift.

    6z , it trended another 15 or 20 miles south. has 12" just north of Baltimore.

    Anyone awake? 6Z NAM looks even better for NE MD. DOX radar also looks interesting precip shooting west across the bay further south than I was expecting.

    I actually remember the CMC doing something very similar for a couple runs before the 1/2015 blizzard..

    CMC clobbers Wilmington like the GFS. I suspect this is the convective blob throwing things off at the last second.

    This Euro run should get an honorable mention. It busted just as badly, just not over our area.
