    This image is from 3-8. Only had time from getting home from work to grab the camera and take this in the front lawn. So buildings, trees and wires are part of the equation here. Taken with the 24-70mm at 45mm...

    A bit behind in processing again. These are from 3-7. Some weak iridescence at the top of this image. Taken with the 24-70mm at 50mm... The edge of the alto-cumulus looks so cool to me. Almost like it was one of those sheets of perforated paper that you rip off. The cloud shadow even increases the effect. There is a decaying sundog on the right edge but I was focusing on the alto-cumulus. Taken with the 24-70mm at 24mm...

    When a person becomes dependant on COD for all the satellite views, server maintenance can be a kick to the groin. SSEC looks OK but is strange now to look at.

    A gorgeous day. It hit room temperature at KIND. A high of 72. Was a tad breezy though. 24 gusting to 31 was the most I saw at KIND...

Taken with the 16-35mm at 16mm... A look west at the alto-cumulus pre-sunset. Taken with the 24-70mm at 24mm... And the alto-cumulus with the red flash. Taken ith the 24-70mm at 57mm...     I would say poor chickens but as long as you are not snow-bound so long that you have to eat all the chickens they should persist just fine. This is a great photo especially for shooting into the Sun. Held the contrast extremely well. I also like all the visible layers in the snowpack on top of the roof. An A+ vision of winter up north.

    I raced home after work and then raced out to the overpass for the sunset this evening. Looking south as I was walking up the overpass. Taken with the 24-70mm at 70mm... Had a brief but noticeable red flash. Taken with the 24-70mm at 70mm...

    First bloom color of the year here. The crocus are coming up and starting to open up. I feel so much better now.

    I would say we might do it again here Thurs. through Friday but are too close to the occlusion point. and in a chaotic mess. But south of here might be a decent bet for those twisty winds.

    Was looking up a good part of the day. Some early afternoon cirrus. Taken with the 24-70mm at 28mm... Another faint 22 degree halo around the Sun when I got to the overpass for sunset. Taken with the 24-70mm at 28mm... The last of the Sun. Taken with the 24-70mm at 49mm...

    A first for the year. I was able to get home and grab the camera, and image the post sunset color after work. Only had time to get to the municipal lot. Did not have enough time to make it all the way to the overpass though. So the trees, wires and lights had to be included. Taken with the 24-70mm at 59mm...

    Cool article. I just learned about the astronomical stuff first and that is what stuck with me. I liked being able to go out and make observations with a stick and it's shadow and confirm it like it has been done for centuries.

    Plenty of cirrus around this afternoon and early evening. Started off with a sundog in an old contrail getting ripped to shreds in the winds aloft. Taken with the 24-70mm at 39mm... A partial 22 degree halo around the Sun with a small sundog on the south side. Taken with the 24-70mm at 31mm... I had hoped that would get some great color post sunset, but those dreams were squashed. The best I could do was pre-sunset. Taken with the 24-70mm at 31mm...
