  1. And here I was depressed about the 2.5" we got here yesterday. The thought of 10" is nightmare stuff. lol
  2. 10-26 was a minimalist sunset both in color and in amount of clouds. Taken with the 24-70mm at 38mm...
  3. 10-24 was a two-part experience behind the viewfinder. Part A was at noon. An even patina of cirrus covered the Sun and left this nice partial 22 degree halo around the Sun. This was taken from my side yard and unfortunately has all the wires and trees in it. But it does give a better sense of scale. Taken with the 24-70mm at 24mm... Part B was the normal post sunset. This was taken with the 100mm... And more of a wide angle view. Taken with the 24-70mm at 35mm...
  4. 10-23 had a great variety of clouds for the late afternoon/ early evening. Over an hour before sunset. Taken with the 24-70mm at 24mm... Looking south-southeast around sunset. Taken with the 24-70mm at 39mm... As the post sunset begins. Taken with the 100mm... Cheers!
  5. 10-22 illustrated just how fast sunsets at the end of October occur. There was only 12 minutes 45 seconds between these two images. Very close to sunset. Taken with the 24-70mm at 59mm... Post sunset. Taken with the 24-70mm at 53mm...
  6. 10-19, 10-20 and 10-21 all looked very similar. I am going just to use one image from the 19th for all three days. Taken with the 24-70mm at 57mm...
  7. 10-18 was about the red flash again. Taken with the 24-70mm at 70mm...
  8. 10-16 was sparse but colorful Pre-sunset. taken with the 24-70mm at 70mm... Post sunset taken with the 24-70mm at 61mm...
  9. 10-15 was about the red flash. Looking to the northeast as the red headed into the area. Taken with the 24-70mm at 24mm... Looking southwest as the red wwas retreating. I liked the way the red was intermittently painted in streaks across the sky. Taken with the 24-70mm at 57mm...
  10. 19-11 as about the afternoon clouds as a system bore down on the area. Looks like the clouds were caught between cumulus and stratus, or cumulustratus as I like to call it. I am sure there is a specific name for these clouds, but I just thought they looked cool. Taken with the 24-70mm at 45mm...
  11. 10-10 was another decent evening for clouds. Looking east southeast when I got out to the overpass at some white cumulus. Taken with the 16-35mm at 19mm... Some more crepuscular rays closer to sunset. Taken with the 24-70mm at 33mm...
  12. 10-9 had some faint crepuscular rays close to the horizon. Taken with the 24-70mm at 70mm...
  13. 10-6 taken with the 24-70mm at 33mm...
  14. Only 0.09" here and KIND went above 50mph twice on the five minute obs. On the way home from work yesterday, there was a few fences along fields coated and draped with corn fodder and quite a few limbs down. Will get the camera out and see what I can see this morning.
  15. Do you know what the ground is like at depth there? Trees do have to grow down before they can grow up. Is there a deep hard layer of clay in the area?
  16. Leaves are more on the ground than in the trees here now.
  17. 10-4 was OK. Taken with the 100mm...
  18. 9-28 close to the sunset. Taken with 24-70mm at 33mm...
  19. 9-25 was about the cumulus. Mid-morning. Taken with the 24-70mm at 25mm... Early evening. Taken with the 24-70mm at 24mm...
  20. 9-24 was about spot-lit clouds and color. White clouds. Taken with the 24-70mm at 55mm... Orange clouds. Taken with the 24-70mm at 24mm... And some cotton candy colors post sunset. Taken with the 24-70mm at 31mm...
  21. 9-22. The first sunset of Autumn was decent. Pre-sunset. Taken with the 24-70mm at 35mm... Post-sunset. Taken with the 24-70mm at 65mm...
  22. 9-21. The last sunset of summer was about the alto cumulus. Looking southwest as I got out to the overpass. Taken with the 24-70mm at 24mm... Just before heading home. Taken with the 16-35mm at 16mm...
  23. 9-20 was all about the post sunset color. Immediately after sunset, the red down low and yellow up top. Taken with the 24-70mm at 35mm... The red/orange flash. Taken with the 24-70mm at 57mm...
  24. 9-19. Everything was on the distant horizon. As the post sunset began. Taken with the 100mm... The reds as the post sunset concluded. Taken with the 100mm...
