I may be in the worst possible position right now for this. No power for multiple days or rain that’s floods my house. What wonderful options to chose from . Ugh.

We rented a beach house on the water there in Milford to start next Friday. :weep:

LIS storm urge impact with multiple tide cycles compounding will be an issue, especially western sound.

Aside from those who make a living on the water, most residents are totally unaware of this incoming for the weekend.

It does not take much. It only drains through the race or under the Brooklyn Bridge.

Our summer plans having changed like four times, we just the other day booked a house on the water in Milford starting next Friday. :weep: Hoping the flooding does not materialize.

GEFS are like 50/50 chances NW vs. OTS.

GEFS are terrible for NYC Metro... Want to TRACK NW AND SUPPORT THE OPERATIONAL
I do not think it is a weak TC...

you have to define "terrible" on this board. Has dual meanings.

Yes.  I don't get it.  Every storm I see the big ole brine truck go up and down and around street 4-5 times.  Does nothing.

Even worse in my area is they've also pre-salted roads last few light events (didn't really do much to help) and now probably don't have enough salt left to treat roads if we get freezes next couple weeks or a storm or two in March.

The small one lane service road along Riverside Drive was bare/blacktop... the main four lane road was snow-covered.

    1989...
A total of 33 cities in the Ern U.S. reported new record low temperatures for the date,
and an Atlantic coast storm spread heavy snow from GA to Srn New England.
Snowfall totals in NJ ranged up to 24" in Cape May Co, with 19" reported at ACY.
Totals in NC ranged up to 18" in Gates County, and winds along the coast of NC
gusted to 70 mph at Duck Pier. Strong winds gusting to 52 mph created blizzard
conditions at Chatham, MA. (NWS) (SD)

Not to take us down memory lane, but that remains my #1 weather event because we had the fortune to drive through the height of that going from MA to FL for Christmas. We were in a 4WD GMC Suburban... picked up some people stranded on the side of the road on I-95 in NC.

You're the same people that complain when we don’t have snow.

We haven’t had any appreciable snow on the ground in two years. It has been on the ground for a whopping 2 weeks and you want it gone. In a week or two it will be gone for 10 months (sans a wet March snow) and you can enjoy the record dewpoints that the cement jungle provides us these days.

For the record, there is never anywhere to park in Brooklyn...that is why people who want a car lifestyle eventually leave Brooklyn :)

We nearly lost our minds during the winter of 10-11 in Boston when we had 72" in six weeks and we had a 2 year-old. Sprung for a garage spot in advance of the next winter (11-12)

Carless in Manhattan near a park is the way to enjoy it now. Let it keep piling up. :scooter::snowman:
