Wow, that 576 corridor is getting crushed.  
Usually the best bands set up around the turnpike. 
Nice to see the south and west areas get in on the action.

Maybe the best pure LES band I've experienced.

Haven't seen that Allegheny/Wash county band in awhile.

It's been a semi consistent set up over the years.

The 228 interchange looks messy.

Hopefully we break the drought today. 

Great deep winter feel outside today. 
The wind chill was a bit brutal at times, but still better than the grey damp drizzle we’ve had most of the winter. 
A solid 2-4 region wide seems reasonable for Friday.

It's going to be extra frustrating if we get out of this week without a bigger phased solution considering we watched two massive storms impact the Central U.S., however.  We'll regulate over the last week of January, too, so it's sort of a kick to the groin.

February will presumably offer more chances, and I suppose less blocking might be better for us inland folks.  The break will be welcome either way (busting out and/or after tracking all these threats).

Hopefully we can get efficient snow growth, to make up for the lack of qpf. 
As far as February, it’s always a fine line between blocking, and all out suppression. 
For us it’s always been the location, i.e. 2/5/10. It was like a see saw, where the blocking suppressed eastern pa, and popped a norlun trough west of the apps enhancing our precip. 

Still some pingers mixed in with some splattering flakes.  
A better placed HP and this would’ve been a rush hour mess.  
Hopefully we get a nice banana HP, when the time is right again.

Dry air limited overall totals, but that 1-2 hr burst was worth the wait. 
Great daytime rates, with nice dendrites. 

The penndot cam site is a nice real time tool to compare with the radar.

The closest OH sites are still reporting no precip.

One thing about the GFS these past few years, is that inside 3 or 4 days it digs in, and does not budge.

Does it go down with the ship, or continue to prove itself king worthy ?

In the middle of an epic 4 year run.

TBH, as long as we keep this open wave look, I’m treating this storm more as a glorified clipper. 

Canadian fwiw is showing an inverted trough look, giving us a boost in totals with the added lift. 
Just have to wait and see if anyone else follows suit. 

The GFS reminds me of a large summertime MCS.
