Here's something to cool you off.
-
Some of that cooler air over in Philly would be nice right now.
I miss having central a\c.
-
Looks only 3/4 full at Pnc Park tonight.
Pens game kinda stole the Pirates national TV thunder.
-
Interesting belated fact.
3.1" of snow fell on may 9th 1966.
That would be alot of snow on april 9th, let alone may.
And tying that into our past odd winter.
The last daily recorded snowfall over 3" was January 25th.
-
In a winter dominated by cold air, it was never around when needed.
Starting with the storm before Thanksgiving, all the way through today...
Go eff yourself PV, thanks for nothin'. lol
-
At least you can say the season has been consistent.
Plenty of moisture, no cold air.
Cold air, limited moisture.
However I am a bit bullish on the first half of April.
-
What snow event? We were never in the game on this. I think snow mostly is done.
Sent from my iPhone
A couple days ago it was more of an event.
-
I'm sorry this pattern is B.S.
Every snow event has trended downward this month.
I almost gaurantee though, that the rain forecasted later this week will verify spot on.

Ok, getting suppresed again sucks, but whatever.
My real gripe, is the fact that many in the mid-atlantic have had the best of both worlds this month.
At least twice now, they've had golfing weather one day, then heavy snow the next.
Meanwhile here in Pgh the few decent days we've had, have been like walking around in the high desert with all the dirt and dust blowing around.
Lots of fun.
That's fine, I'm still holding out hope for the big inland runner that buries sw pa.
Winter is far from over.
-
It's pretty amazing how many times this pattern has tried to recapture that feb 2010 magic, at least on paper.
Just shows how difficult it is getting all the pieces in place, for a snowstorm.
-
Robinson was fouled on that lay up at the end.
He should've had a chance to tie the game.
I've seen lesser contact called a foul, on those types of plays.
Oh well, that's Pitt.
-
Hey at least Pitt probably punched their ticket to the NCAA march madness yesterday.....
Yeah, any slight doubt was erased yesterday.
-
Yesterday Pitt won and our storm fell apart.
Mabey a Pitt loss brings the storm back, as the the team travels home early.
No, that's not it either.
We lose the storm, and Pitt loses in the last seconds again.
Damn this winter. Lol
-
My congrats to the many long range winter forecasts for Pgh 2013-2014.
They stated above average snow, with a low likelihood of a large storm.
Never thought we'd get nickeled and dimed to 60" though. Lol
-
Unfortunatly, this system turned out to be either, all snow from the start, then nothing.
Or all rain from the start, then snow, possibly heavy in spots.
The earlier concept of two significant waves of snow, was not realistic.
That forecast had such a thin margin for error.
-
These thread the needle storms, that come in two or three waves, are more trouble than they're worth.
Basically from here on out, it's Miller A, inland runners or bust.
-
Where's that damn SE ridge when we need it. Lol.
Anyway, it is looking like fringe city once again.
But I'm staying onboard, for better or for worse.
-
Crazy scene in Chicago, should be fun.
The Pens winter classics have been snow, rain, now snow again.
-
Hi everybody.
Go............
But seriously, thanks for getting our thread back and running.
I guess take it easy with getting too personal with the arguements.
But with plenty of Wx and sports the next few months, there should be lots to discuss.

Mabey it's just perception, but what's happened to the classic squall line with the passage of a cold front.
I remember when I was younger, the entire wnw sky black with the approach of a long line of storms.
It just seems like we rarely get a solid line of storms approaching from the west.
