Problem is, they wear the same masks for weeks at  a time. Take the masks away,  cases drop. Becoming pretty clear that the personal bacteria  farms are detrimental

Yep, nasty bacteria from a used mask.

Except for rare circumstances, anyone can choose to get vaccinated.  Comparing this to something like the ugly history of segregation which has been based on innate qualities most commonly race is a pretty terrible false equivalency.

There was also no rational basis to segregate people based on things like race or gender in the past.  There is a very clearly rational basis to give vaccinated individuals different treatment compared to unvaccinated people given the current circumstances.

If a business suffers because of giving preferential treatment to those vaccinated then the free market will sort things out,  isn't that what most conservatives preach?

Also in terms of moving the country forward,  we do so by crushing the pandemic, the best way to do that is by everyone that is able getting vaccinated.

I did not compare this to the history of segregation.  Everything is not about race.   If you don't like the term Segregation, let's replace it with something else.

Yes, let's get the most vulnerable vaccinated and move on.

Comparing this to segregation is extremist. Period.

You're aware that the term Segregation can refer to more than just race right?

Segregation, separation of groups of people with differing characteristics, often taken to connote a condition of inequality.

I'm surprised that you're so in favor of this sort of government overreach. Sure the state government can stay out of requiring vaccine passports but why push their agenda on private businesses?

Creating a segregated society is not how we move this country forward.

As Gov Desantis said " “requiring vaccine passports for taking part in everyday life such as attending a sporting event, patronizing a restaurant or going to a movie theater would create two classes of citizens based on vaccination.”"

In the sense world travel will still be tricky, but I think it should be stressed nationally things will return much more to normal with vaccinations.

Unless it's travel from Mexico, the border is a mess right now.

I didn’t realize Ron DeSantis joined the 5G nanochip crowd? And explain to me why Florida real estate is exploding. People are fleeing democrat strongholds. Florida is wide open and numbers are good.

Yep, Texas and Florida doing pretty good these days.

Spring is definitely well ahead of schedule -- I'd say by two weeks or so. Grass is growing and trees budding... even some small leaves starting to appear. Great Spring so far.

Seems like we're finally getting a nice spring.  We either get cold and snowy, or warm and wet.  This spring has been mostly warm and allowed for green up well ahead of schedule.  Still have parts of the property that are decently wet, but should be cutting at least some grass within the next week I would think (pending any additional rain).

Im asking you to prove that there is a link to covid, this thread topic. I dont care if it gives you acne or any other thing. I care only about spreading covid. You had no proof.

There is no link, never said there was.

The relevant topic (see above) is  playing sports with masks vs what the WHO recommends.

Yeah slink back into your hole, your tangential nonsense isn't going to play.

You know, there are alot of people in this thread that I disagree with.  The difference between them and you is they provide data , and links to help educate others.  You just spew dribble at everyone you don't agree with.

This is a covid thread, thats all I care about spreading and there is no link to dirty masks spreading covid. No matter how condescending you want to be, you are not proving any point here.

It's a dumb topic really.  Started because malackala made a baseless claim.  There are more important things to discuss.

Obviously dirty masks can cause acne and shit, but you could probably drag your mask through a sewer and it still wouldn't give you a respiratory illness

Um ok, not sure who made a claim that a mask would give you a respiratory illnesses.

  12. 23 minutes ago, Stebo said:

This says nothing about dirty masks and this isn't a link either. Mind you I am on the side of knowing reusing masks isn't the best but there is no provable link that it increases the spread of covid. It may be gross but we are looking at one specific thing that you have no evidence of.

There is a link, just got to read...

Sure, sweat = dirty.  No shit, who said it increases the spread of covid?  If you follow along, this has been about a dirty mask causing bacteria, and "possible" infections.

  13. 6 minutes ago, mattb65 said:

At least in the last few pages you only wrote about contaminated masks so I'll give you that,  obviously anyone wearing a contaminated or visibly dirty mask probably has more things than covid to worry about.

Most of the anti mask crazies (not you) wildly exaggerate the risk of causing bacterial  pneumonia or other infections or blocking air flow or other similar misinformation.  The gist of the conversation seemed to be drifting towards that anti mask nonsense but I want to be fair that you aren't making those claims.

    I've never said otherwise.   Thanks

The article you posted did not say that starting a mask increases the risk of infection, it claimed.

    1. Masks can cause acne "mascne" especially if you use fabric softener.

    2. Mask wearing may promote mouth breathing which may lead to dry mouth, bad breath and tooth decay (this all seems like a stretch to me)

    3. If people fail to wash their hands after frequently adjusting their masks, maybe they could increase their infection risk.  So the article recommends using the elastics to remove the mask.

So no, the article you posted did not provide evidence to support your position.

So let's say the article is wrong.  Are you saying it's ok to wear a dirty mask then?  Of course not, what are we arguing over?

This argument is over a "dirty mask".  The WHO posted it as well.

You are claiming that there is a well documented link between masks and causing/increasing infections as if it is common sense then refusing to provide evidence of the claim is pretty telling.

It's just like yesterday when the claim was made that Florida fudged their covid data while simultaneously refusing to put forward any evidence to support the position.

You have frequently called people out for using this sort of tactic. I think it's pretty obvious that any "evidence " you could come up with to suggest that masks cause infections would either be extremely low quality evidence e.g. anecdotes or some forum of anti mask conspiracy nonsense.

I posted an article.  If you disagree with it fine, but don't say I don't have evidence.
