Considering that many restaurants stayed opened to indoor dining or reopened after many restaurants didn't abide by shut-down of indoor dining during late fall and early winter surge, I doubt that there will be much adherence to any new restrictions.

The county sheriffs not enforcing the state mandates makes them pretty toothless and an easier call for many restaurants to keep business as usual.

We're probably/hopefully little more than a month away from transmission really dropping here due to vaccine or natural immunity and seasonality.

Does your law enforcement actually do this?   Seems they have enough on their hands than responding to calls about mandates (not laws).  I'd much rather they are protecting the city from crime.

We have a state taskforce that snoops on businesses enforcing the crowd limidto, masks etc.

If DTA wasn't embroiled in right-wing politics he would see the vaccine was beneficial to him and society at large. From a scientific perspective, it absolutely is.

You should re direct your babbling to someone who is actually discussing far right vax conspiracy theories.

@dta1984 has at least ATTEMPTED, repeatedly, to provide backing for his positions, rather than resorting to personal attacks when he doesn't have an answer. His information may be wrong or misguided sometimes, but he at least shares what he is looking at, and has allowed himself to be corrected several times, including by you.

I take issue with the "blood on your hands", anti American, "Americans are selfish" bullshit. Because it is bullshit. When somebody has to resort to personal attacks, it means they haven't actually thought through why they think the way they do about something. You haven't called out a single person spewing emotional garbage in this thread. Why? What is wrong with you?

Finally--I have a bias, because I am human. My bias is towards individual choice. I own that bias and am here defending it.

I don't try pushing my views.  They are mine, and (many others for that matter).  Sure, they may seem misguided to some, but their views are misguided to others as well.  I have good sources, and actual medical professionals in the family.  Some here just rely on what ABC news or Dr fauci say.  It's whatever, agree to disagree.

  4. It's delusional to think personal attacks or any other bs threats is what will convince someone to change their stance on any given subject.  Again, piss poor people skills. It's no wonder some anti covid vaxers won't change their mind.

And when businesses, airlines, etc. require you to be vaccinated to set foot inside, I call that their decision.

I mean ya lol that's their decision.  Then thsoe who aren't vaccinated can take their business elsewhere I suppose.

Same with masks.  When the mandates are lifted some businesses will keep requirements, some won't.

Give it a ****ing rest. You're the only person that regularly posts in this thread lately that's anti vax. You have absolutely no self-awareness. You're the odd-ball, not the rest of us. There is literally a worldwide public health campaign to vaccinate the population. ****ing weirdo.

Lol.  I'm not anti vax.  Thanks!  It is entertaining how worked up some of you get.

If any of these are extremist tactics, then what do you call pretty much all of the arguments against getting the vaccine?

I call those, their decision.  Unless it's mandatory, do what you please.

  8. It is amusing seeing the different tactics used by the hardcore pro vaxers.  There's been "the blood will be on your hands when this mutates!",  and " all the cool kids are doing it" now "it's common sense."

My point here is that no one with a lick of intellect or common sense can simultaneously believe that the virus can pass unobstructed through the mask, yet the mask could significantly restrict your oxygen flow.

I've already said that masks help, but to the extent they help is debatable. I did not say they restrict oxygen flow, I posted an article that said exercising can.   Re direct your common sense preaching elsewhere to the poster that is saying such.

While I guess thats true I also wore a mask today for 2+ hours while mixing cement and grinding. We have to get fit tested and everything for those masks. So while a tiny portion may actually feel like they cant breath, if a tiny "piece of fabric" disrupts your breathing pretty sure you should see a doctor and find out why. Theres no reason you should have trouble breathing with that on.

Not arguing with this, the WHO is who posted the statement.

I mean, isn't that basic common sense?  Of course it matters how intensely you are exercising and how fit you are.

Exactly lol, you made my point.  See below what I quoted from Tim saying it's not possible.

"And restricting your oxygen flow? Where on God’s green earth did you hear such a thing that you could babble about on an internet weather forum?"

I shouldn’t dignify this complete and total drivel with a response, but here goes. Masks have been proven to be effective at slowing the spread of this and other viruses. No, they’re not 100% effective, and maybe not even close to 100% effective. To put this into a weather enthusiast perspective (assuming you’re actually a weather enthusiast and not just an anti-mask troll, and I’d say the jury is still out on that one, at least in my mind), tornado warnings sadly aren’t 100% effective at preventing injuries or deaths, so should the NWS stop issuing them? I guess they’re as useless as a snow shovel in Barbados, in your mind.

And restricting your oxygen flow? Where on God’s green earth did you hear such a thing that you could babble about on an internet weather forum? The ignorance of such a statement is beyond belief. You mean to tell me that covid particles can pass through a mask like a wide open door but when it comes to (MUCH SMALLER) O2 molecules, it turns into the Ever Given in the Suez Canal? Good lord!

In regards to the bolded, the WHO message about exercising does say the mask may reduce the ability to breathe comfortably.  Don't shoot the messenger

No one in this thread beside the doc who posts frequently would actually be able to figure out a real association of the complications and/or deaths with the vaccine. You only posted that to justify your own vaccine fears. Its meaningless without context.

Nope no fears here.  I posted it as the reactions should be known in order to make an informed decision (along with talking to your doc).

Viruses don't "grow" on your masks, and the bacteria that *might* definitely will not cause diseases, at least not in the way you morons think they will

If you're referring to me, I never implied a virus will grow on your mask lol.  Microorganisms yes.

  15. 19 hours ago, Nickysixes said:

Yes, wearing your own personal bacteria farm is effective! Michigan cases surging. One Covid+ patient in our ER today told nurse that he wears the same mask for weeks , doesn't understand how he tested positive

Are masks required in gyms in Michigan?   Pretty sure the WHO says that is a cause of bacteria and not to wear one.

Within seconds, you got a “like” from someone whose only post on any of these forums in nearly a year was in this thread and makes the badly flawed assumption that wearing masks causes you to breathe in your own CO2. That should tell you everything you need to know about the wisdom of not getting a vaccine.

Cool thanks!  Best of luck with your decision.

Like I said, when the virus starts spreading through the unvaccinated, then mutates into a variant that OUR vaccine doesn’t protect us against, the blood is on your hands. Hope your conscience can handle that. Mine couldn’t.

What if it turns into something as deadly as SARS or MERS and millions of Americans die because people were afraid of a vaccine?

I'm still going to wait, thanks!

You just don't get it. Smh

I'm guessing you're referring to my choice to wait for the vax (the other part about pharmaceutical industries is a fact).  Luckily we all get a choice.  If you disagree with it fine, but it's ones personal choice.
