Had 3/4" between yesterday evening and now. The band that developed raced through here. Light snow currently. Maybe more trying to develop over the lake.
-
Special ws from cle mentions freezing drizzle. While out driving I did notice a few sleet or ice balls hitting the windshield.
Steady light snow, looks to continue for a while. Only an inch in forecast from cle, we'll see..
-
My event total is at 2" so far.
Hopefully tonight into tomorrow work out! Looks like chances for snow into thurs at least.
-
1/2" overnight, and pretty sure most of that came last evening during a pretty good burst of snow.
32 and light snow this morning. Even had some graupel during the heavier bursts. Wonder if the heavier returns near mentor are mostly graupel?
-
The grass had a little accumulation earlier this afternoon.
Both 12z wrf arw and nmm get .5-.75 qpf around this area through sun am with 1" not far away.
-
Good analysis OHweather, it will be nice seeing snow again. Hopefully we can get into another snowy period to make up for some lost time.
36 and light graupel on the way to work this morning.

I will be traveling this coming Saturday through next Thursday so I'll miss most of the snow. Outside of the mud... I've enjoyed this mild stretch. It will be nice to see the snow again but if we are counting on LES I'd feel a lot better being around the Rt 6 corridor the way this season has played out.
2' bullseye guaranteed if you're out of town! Haha.
It's nice to have it in the forecast again. We have a lot of catching up to do. Once again, hope for more of a nw flow vs w.

Looks like our 2.5 week snow drought should come to an end later this week with a clipper and a little lake effect. Not sure if it gets cold enough for heavy lake effect, but several days of snow may add up.

Check out today's 12z GFS. That would be a perfect storm position for heavy synoptic snow in most of Ohio... but there is no cold air to be found.
Fits this winter perfectly lol.
On the bright side..this time next week we should be looking at some snow again.

Ya this is an incredible mild stretch for mid winter. Looks like the next chance of accumulating snow is at least a week away.

It was nice to pick up a little more snow before the warm up. We'll be looking at much different landscape tomorrow. If anything the warmer temps, wind and rain should do a number on the ice that formed on the lake. We'll have open water when the next cold shot arrives around the end of the month (possibly).
50s felt great today!
Looks like a quiet 10 days or so. Lake will be primed for end of the month. We're going to need a big event to end up at a decent year. Not even 30" so far. Kirtland to Chardon has definitely faired much better. I'd say they're probably around 60" for the year.
We're pretty much in line with in a few inches of last year.....unfortunately.
-
1.5" overnight. Some good returns moving in, but probably has sleet mixed in.
-
Been getting steady light snow the past several hours. Not sure if it will amount to much, but maybe an inch if the band doesn't move much.
-
Looks like 1" here as well. While that band that formed was very intense, it ended up racing south. Not sure of anything ever developed behind it.
-
Mentor is getting rocked. Was there a few hours ago and probably had 1-2" down ready. Healthy band taking shape. Looks like it's slowly sagging south. We'll see. ...
-
Les advisory for 3-5 inches. Surprised Cuyahoga is left out of the advisory.

Lol, the models are now bringing another surface trough through Saturday morning and turning the winds WNW instead of letting a high build in. I can't imagine the snow being extremely intense by then, but maybe it sneaks far enough SW for Trent to pick up a couple of inches. Us inland folk may never do great with such light winds. Arctic front moves through Saturday night probably with another burst of snow that could be a couple or few inches. It'll all add up a little bit.
So is that a situation of a decent flow for us, but not enough inland penetration?
Wonder how lake county did last night? That band hung out in that area for most of the night, but don't think it was that intense.

We average around 90"-100" in this area... which doesn't seem feasible at this point. But who knows, maybe February and March will be rockin.
We are due for a rockin March.
2" here, still snowing.
The bands off shore look good, someone will do well tonight.

Between the snow today and the little burst of les tonight with the wind shift you guys should get like 2"...but yeah the best will again be farther north.
Haha it's been that kind of winter.......I'll take it .
Ground is whitening up, steady light snow.
Actually moderate snow with big flakes in Solon .

Looks like another solid LES event for those from Rt.6 on northeast. NAM and WRF both have a lot of precip falling in that area. The slight shift north with the precip takes us out of the game completely around here... although we were never really in it. The consolation prize is that the bare ground will freeze so I won't have to deal with a muddy yard until the next warm up.
There's still .2 or so qpf shown here. Maybe that's not from les and more from the southern system?
-
Nam 4k and 3k get .2 - .3 qpf down this way. Grasping at straws, but maybe a few inches?
-
Happy new year all!
Looks like a warm few days ahead in the 40s. Maybe lake effect towards the end of the week. Cle mentions it starting as a west flow. Hopefully we can get a little more NW at some point.
-
Wonder if the southern areas that were under the band last night (un warned areas) end up being the winners? The cle discussion mentions most areas of geauga are struggling to get 4".
-
2" here. Bummer that no bands really ever got organized. Maybe a little more will fall throughout the day.

And there it is....les advisory for cuy Geauga and lake for 2-4 additional.
Snowing nicely here, but the band has become disorganized.
