Right at 2" since last night. Hopefully the bands can get more organized throughout the day.
-
Merry Christmas everyone!
Neoh, how much snow did you get yesterday and overnight?
-
2" (measuring off the deck) fell after the changeover. Very scenic out there!

Could be an interesting Christmas eve/day. 12z guidance looking good for a white christmas.
Noticed that as well. I'll be in Southern Ohio for Christmas, but it may work out there too.
You're right about Trent....Haven't seen him post in a while. Maybe a big storm will being him back.

The snow should be gone in another day or two. Awful timing. Hopefully we'll see some positive trends in the models soon.
One thing looks likely is that it will get really cold around Christmas. Hopefully that leads to some le before freezing more of the lake.

My total includes an inch with the first wave yesterday afternoon, and I measured another 4.6" this morning.
Ok thanks!
Looks like some les starting... not sure how much it'll add up to.

5.6" total from the clipper. The radar looked good when I went to bed... wonder if the heaviest snow fell south of here.
Is that just since last evening (not including the early morning and early afternoon rounds)? Didn't get a chance to measure this morning.
-
Before the next round moves in my total stands at 6". 3.5 yesterday, and the rest since this morning.
-
Kind of interesting that as soon as the lake effect moved out, the clipper is beginning. Small flakes already. Good returns out west.
-
I went with 3.5" total up until now. A little fell overnight, but not much.
At the moment getting a nice burst. Not sure how long it'll last as I think it's moving quickly.
Clipper and enhancement looks decent for tonight still.

Had 1.75" down as of 7am. Snowing pretty good now. Roads are a mess.

Looking forward to seeing what the next couple of days bring snowfall wise . After a week of cold weather we will finally get a more favorable wind direction. The NAM has a consistent 300 flow, while the GFS is a little more NW'erly. Not the best for a long fetch but moisture looks good. The one negative will be the wind speed.
This next week seems to be looking more favorable the closer we get to the event. Unlike last week where everything dwindled. Should be fun!

.5 " here overnight. Doesn't appear the lake effect ever got going around here. Chardon webcam doesn't show much more.
Winter storm watch for mon-weds. Hopefully that works out better.

Model trends haven't been that great for the weekend. The low has really weakened... and ridging looks to push in quickly behind it. 1 -2" seems possible. Hopefully we can cash-in at some point next week.
Ya does look like a run of the mill few inches . It'll be the first though. On the bright side, there is around 1.25" qpf being shown the next 10 days.
-
Looks like starting Saturday our snow chances pick up. Should be an eventful week at least after that. One thing is for sure though. ..the lake will be cooling off fast.
-
Cle mentions Le weds-thurs. Hopefully we can get a better idea of the flow the next few days.
Flow appears to become well aligned for a potential for significant lake effect snow Wednesday into Thursday but exact location still remains to be seen because of the slight shifting of the winds with time. All-in-all situation will need to be watched as the event unfolds.

I don't live in Ohio. Why is there a thread for Ohio?
Our weather is vastly different than the rest of Ohio.
-
Yep agree! The mild weather the past week should have kept temps up some at least. If I remember right it was last year this time for the first big lake effect. RT 6 was hammered with 2-3 feet. Need to repeat that but to the south a little!
-
We're bound to cash in sometime in the next few weeks. Will be nice to get into a wintry pattern.
-
1/2" here. Was near Chesterland and Chardon yesterday and suspect an inch, maybe two there. Possibly more in far north geauga. The bands seemed to move too quickly to accumulate much.

I forget...when did you guys have your first lake effect event last year?
Last year was late..... first week of December I believe.

Both morning wrfs have a 4-6" band, but in different locations. ArW in southwest cuy, and Nmm is through southeast cuy and Geauga.
-
Ya noticed GFS may be caving. Maybe we'll still get something. The short range models should be interesting.

Morning wrfs get .3-.5" precip from about shaker through chagrin and a little east.
