Very smokey in Fall River right now from those fires in Nova Scotia. Can smell it too
If we help them out again maybe we can get another tree out of the deal?

Severe is like world peace..It’ll never happen but there’s always hope

Might get a lot of low topped convection/graupel next several days after today.
I’ve already started to get lightning alerts on my phone. Let’s keep ‘‘em coming

I thought these murky days only happened when we were under a potential severe weather “threat”

Ahhh was finally looking forward to cracking the window open to some warmth and sun today but when I woke up I noticed once again I would be stuck in the murk. When will I ever learn

I can’t even remember a previous severe threat around here in April but we did get a legit severe storm in Feb a few years ago

How does this potential today compare/not compare to say 2011 in terms of possible severity?
-
There may even be snow showers early tomorrow morning in the same places as the tornado watch is in currently..Always found that fascinating

Scary wording

Please see the forthcoming Day 1 outlook update for more information. ..Lyons/Smith.. 03/31/2023
It just doesn’t get any scarier than that

Looks like parts of that moderate zone are being upgraded to high risk very soon per posts in the Midwest thread
-
The new moderate risk area for today is insane. Can’t recall anything that extensive

Go west.
Horace Greeley must have been a meteorologist in these parts too lol

If we end up with severe even up in our parts then I can only imagine what the folks in the Midwest are going to be dealing with tomorrow…

I was debating starting a severe thread. Not a fan of how dry alot of soundings looked though...but there may be enhanced convergence right along the front. Good sign to see models with decent QPF signal.
What are your thoughts about the probable severe outbreak in the central part of the country Friday Wiz? Reed Timmer seems to be hitting it hard.

I never took any official snow measurements but off the top of my head we wound up with somewhere between 10-13 inches for the season. That would definitely be the quietest winter in my lifetime

Hopefully at least the tropics will be interesting this year

I can't recall a Noreaster that gave up to 40" over in NH, but Maine got relatively skunked.
That’s got to be even more of a rarity

I don’t think I can recall a storm with such incredible discrepancies in snow totals in such a short distance. Doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened just that I can’t recall it
-
Finally more snow than rain but precip is light. Glad I don’t let this stuff get to me anymore
-
Two inches and falling heavily! (of rain, DOOH!)

I heard another theory recently that sparks from that tragedy in Wisconsin may have started the Chicago fire?
