  1. Hi, where are you from in Southern MD? Should put your location in your profile.
  2. Ellinwood has probably the most bullish map I've seen for everyone in this thread: http://madusweather.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/20150122-24_MAsnow_initial.png
  3. Welcome back! My son wants to go out in it too and build a snowman- he thinks this was the snow I keep telling him about. Had to explain that the real snow is coming soon! My goal is to get at least 8", then I'll be happy - that would be the biggest storm for me since I moved down here. I've had a bunch of 5-7" storms already.
  4. Thanks yoda. Also any output for NHK and SBY that you ever feel like posting would be helpful (I'm no expert in model reading at all)
  5. I'm in 12-18 on the latest LWX map, you look like you're in 8-12?
  6. Measured 1" from the storm yesterday- what were everyone else's totals? Did you eastern shore guys get anything?
  7. Its rippin' & tearin' IMBY LOL. Dry, fluffy snow. Nice practice run. I'll measure tonight. Btw snowdude thanks for posting your forecast. I assume you think my area will have more mixing issues than what's being modeled?
  8. It started snowing hard on my drive home once I reached Sunderland. Calvert didn't treat anything so 2-4 was covered.
  9. Looks like its snowing in St. Mary's or is it just virga? There's a little blob on radar just over the county moving NE. Latest OBS at NHK are 31 and cloudy though.
  10. If this storm goes as planned that'll be 3 out of 3 climo+ winters since I moved down here. Incredible. My son is only 3 1/2 and already knows snow is coming (he actually still remembers last year). I hope he remembers this when he gets older cause we could have crappy winters for the next ten years. I didn't get to see my first big snowstorm until I was 13 (Jan. 1996).
  11. We're missing some of the southern MD people from last year. We're very welcoming of new members in this thread so all lurkers feel free to jump in!
  12. ...and amidst all the chaos- WWA up for southern MD for this evening- the Calvert and St. Mary's one has us down for 1-2" although my point and click says only a half inch. This would have been a big deal a week ago LOL
  13. cobb data for NHK from 6z GFS. I'm not an expert on how to use these properly but looks like a front end thump of 8" before flip to sleet and rain, finishing as snow again. The front end snow is assuming ratios of 13:1 it looks like, which I think is too high (I always assume the standard 10:1). Someone can correct me if I'm looking at this wrong. http://www.meteor.iastate.edu/~ckarsten/cobb/cobb.php?model=gfsm&site=nhk
  14. 6z GFS brought the southern MD bullseye back it looks like- 36"+ over Charles County
  15. I just can't imagine anyone in this region anywhere getting 40". Just nuts.
  16. The crazy 40" bubble got moved from Prince Frederick to NoVa... is this for real? I feel like the GFS has been hacked by some weenie on this forum lol
  17. Wish I had known about that- I took the basic spotter one in Charlotte Hall last October and have been meaning to take the winter one. Oh well, I couldn't have gotten off work early tomorrow to make it anyway. If you see any trained spotter reports from Prince Frederick they might be mine!
  18. Btw welcome back! Hope you stick around to post during the storm!
  19. I got that image saved to my computer. That is literally the best run of any model in my life!
  20. They all said that with Joaquin too... If 18z GFS trends south... lol
  21. Someone had the EuroWx map up on Accuweather forums. Looking awesome for Southern MD- we get more than the DC/Balt metro now! Looks like central VA jackpot.
  22. Anyone have Euro access? How's it look for us? They're all flipping out about it going south in the main thread which is usually a good sign for us.
