I've had to water the yard for the first time in like five years. Getting kind of droughty now, I didn't think that was possible IMBY.

Still 82 here… The trend I keep noticing in this region in recent years is that we just don’t cool off at night anymore. That’s how BWI got hottest month ever in July 2020 despite no record highs. Same idea.

I've actually been getting shutout with rain lately.
Winter is coming...

I could even smell it here, it's a very distinct smell that I recognize from the last time. I think someone on here said it smells like burning carpet- that's a good description.

I was just messing with you the other day. It is uncanny how that area almost always jackpots. Too bad it doesn't work that way for frozen lol.
That's correct, this pattern never applies to wintry precipitation around here. Ever.

0.76" total yesterday, bringing the monthly total to 6.78"
@CAPEif you want an example of how my yard jackpots every single time, check out this Cocorahs map for today for Calvert. The one in red isn't my report, but it's the one closest to me. And you'll also see it almost matches what I just posted.

Picked up 0.47" today, monthly total now 6.49"

Wth is going on over your yard? Damn.
Maybe check the calibration on your rain gauge lol.
I have two of them and they both closely match. I’m actually reporting the lower of the two in that post. My totals match Cocorahs as well.

Jackpot
I get the jackpot and you get screwed, we're back to the old pattern once again. At least until winter.

2.02" so far here.

I have some great news for you tropical weenies- for the first time ever, we will be traveling to the Outer Banks in September. Given our recent luck with travel, this all but guarantees an Isabel redux. I’ll be bumping this post in a few months.

Air is definitely improving here (finally).
-
Air Quality is still trash in Southern MD
-
I had a brief rain shower of 0.02".
Quick question: does precipitation help the air quality situation in any way, or is there no effect?

Maybe we need a new thread: "The Great Haze Event of June 2023."
(Code) Purple Haze can be the theme song.

I don't think I've had a thunderstorm in several years. About as long as I haven't had snow, actually. New post-climate change normal is rather boring tbh

LOL another nice workweek with washout weekend coming up.
I take this back, this weekend has been pretty good so far. Yesterday was perfect and today was just a brief shower this morning and has now been cloudy but a pleasant 70.

0.81” today. If only I was as good at snow and Powerball as I am at rain…
