    She’s a small terrier mix. We rescued her last June after she was brought up from Kentucky.

    NAM picked up on the dry slot fairly well. Might have been a little slow with the progression of the rain/snow line in western NY.

    I would have stopped at 6 inches. 3 1/2 inches is our greatest snowfall this winter so far.

    It’s snowing in Erie and Jamestown is down to 30 with unknown precipitation being reported.

    I almost fell off my chair at work when the Emergency Alert System went off a couple of days before the Superstorm of 1993. I was brought up as a kid thinking the only time that would be used is if the Soviet Union had launched a nuclear attack. I believe it was a heads up that there was an approaching storm that would drop 2-3 feet of snow. That was the first time the EAS was used for a weather event.

    I’ll take that. Its about the only model that brings the band this far south, even if it’s only a short time.

    It’s still not clear how they are going to police tailgating before and after the game. That’s where people will congregate and not practice social distancing.

    Cuomo announced that up to 6700 fans will be allowed to attend the Bills home playoff game. Every fan will be required to take a Covid test and will only be allowed in if the test is negative. After the game contact tracing will be done.

    Thursday night into Friday being a major holiday period must be the reason behind issuing a WSW so early. Hopefully, due to the pandemic, travel will be light during that period.

    There’s a nice sucker hole in the clouds over the Syracuse area right now. Too bad it doesn’t look like it will last until after dark so we can see the super conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn.

    Rgem 2m temperatures at 0Z Friday. Cold air advection spreading across western NY. The front is right over me.

    It’s snowing steadily here but the temperature is in the mid 30s so it’s not accumulating, at least not on dark surfaces. The back edge is approaching from the west so it should be over in 30-60 minutes.

    Is that supposed to be a pun? The Euro still has us above freezing at 850 into Christmas morning so any precipitation until around noon on Friday will be in liquid form.
