  1. Going to shoot to get some late season golf in with the “zzzzz’s” forecast next week
  2. Heavy graupel and some nice gusts as these squalls work through.
  3. If you haven't made it to New Zealand, add that one to the list. Trust me.
  4. Just pulled the data, only .96” of rain in the last 30 days in my back yard. And at 10:1, that gives Madison what, 14 feet of snow?? Thats insane though. Luckily the heart of the metro got spared.
  5. On the extreme northern edge of a somewhat larger (but still small) deficit area. Been a lot of bad luck with storms dying as they approach and splitting around mby.
  6. Picked up another .01”, for a total of .14”. Drought concerns will intensify, however they seem to be very local. Areas 8-10 miles north have been quite wet with lush yards. A rental property I own in Sycamore has been mowed twice in the past week, yet I haven’t had to mow my own yard here just south of Dekalb in over 4 weeks.
  7. Crushing it with .13” from this storm system so far....
  8. Absolutely brutal. Tough to watch, and I can only imagine those on the large Belle who watched this in real time unable to assist. Sherrif confirming 11 fatalities with 5 unaccounted for. http://www.ky3.com/content/news/Emergency-crews-work-incident-involving-amphibious-boat-on-Table-Rock-Lake-488679201.html
  9. Would certainly expect more in OK as well. What a turd of a season
  10. Probably more impactful/dangerous, as so many people will be outside tomorrow.
  11. Was speaking with a buddy of mine who is a farmer. He was saying that most of the guys with corn in are real concerned that with how wet it has been, the corn hasn’t had to “dig down” to find moisture. This leads to a much shallower root structure, increasing the susceptibility to blow downs with summertime storms. Already had some corn blown down around here from yesterday’s storms, along with a good amount of tree damage to the golf course in sycamore. A good derecho/severe wind event would cause havoc with how waterlogged everything is.
  12. I can’t determine if the cameraman is simply really close to the tornado, or is a terrible photographer
  13. I was going to head over to Elburn area earlier, but it’s my daughters 2nd birthday so I stayed put. Photos on Facebook are showing a nice funnel from over there earlier.
  14. Had a nice garden variety blow through (while I was outside on a call).... Nice wind and torrential rain. Good by this years standard.
  15. Yep, Rockford metro is getting absolutely pounded with heavy rain however
  16. Leaves stripped from the palm trees in that video. As a Midwesterner, I am not certain what wind speed they usually can withstand?
