    Snow on the ground at Christmas definitely gives me the rose colored glasses to this winter to date. Fairly deep snowpack (by this winter's standards) heading into tonight. Good radiational cooling set up, the typical cold spots my make a run deep into the negative teens.

    From quickly glancing at storm reports, looks to be a very sharp difference in accumulation between a roughly Rochelle to Evanston line north/south. 4+ inch reports north quickly dropping to sub-2”. Will be interesting to see the map when LOT compiles everything
