  1. Right? My wife was texting me about all the rain and hail; it must have been really small because it melted before she could catch a break from work to go check it out. We got 1.03", and I got home just before that last line of storms rolled through.
  2. I can believe it. I'm currently working in southern NJ and we had quite the gale rip through our site this afternoon. Went from "Oh, that's a nice breeze" to "OMG the shade canopy is about to lift off into outer orbit" in about 2 seconds. It's usually tethered with 20 lb sand bags but these were no match for the winds this afternoon. I think we got it down in just the knick of time though.
  3. My wife snapped this tonight through the living room window. Looks like Tatooine.
  4. Day 2 of 4 of working outside this week. Yesterday was hot but tolerable; today was hotter with less breeze but at least the sun wasn't too harsh (due to clouds and all that smoke). I think we got up to 88 at work (with a forecast high of 92). Looking forward to possible afternoon boomers tomorrow!
  5. Same. What a beautiful day after roasting all last week. Getting in some grilling and smoking for the week's meal prep.
  6. Rest of the region looks like it's getting some good rain tonight. Oh well, at least it's cooled down!
  7. Sat outside for a while and watched it ever so gently shower off and on for a half hour, putting .03" in the gauge. Looks like a half-decent line might come through in a little while though.
  8. Wind picking up and sky darkening to my west. Looking forward to this. Might just sit in my garage with the doors up in a camp chair and sip a beer while it pours. (Hopefully it pours.)
  9. We actually warmed back up slightly. AND the DP increased.
  10. It's certainly cooled off quite a bit. Planning on grilling in a little bit, actually. Still moist though.
  11. Looks like the area east of B'more is getting the same treatment Bensalem got earlier this week with a stationary downpour.
  12. Yeah I think there's a missed marketing opportunity there. It'll be super helpful when they all become adults since you can get pretty close to them before they jump away. One of my coworkers got one after I told him about it and said he's been having fun turning flies into "walks". I about died laughing.
  13. Anybody getting wet yet? We've had maybe 2 drops. More storms are forming to the west and temps/DP's are still up there (though we've fallen to the upper 80's mercifully).
  14. Amazing. That big storm that was headed my way SPLIT IN TWO. It's going to go completely around me. What the heckin' heck.
  15. It was a couple of weeks ago, I don't think I've seen then since (might have been a one-off kinda thing--you can see them on the website but it shows unavailable at my location). However you can get them on Amazon for about the same price ($40 ish).
  16. Yeah I'm not sure about that one. The real feel from my PWS is only 105 or so.
  17. A line just started firing just west of the Susquehanna. Could we actually pick up some decent action this afternoon?
  18. It's actually throwing quite a bit of lightning around for such a small popup.
  19. Actually that was an hour ago. RDG says 95 now. Check out that "real feel" though...
  20. Reading Airport says it's 97°F!!! "Only" 92 at my house, a mile away.
  21. I bought one of those Bug-A-Salt guns at Lowes a couple of weeks ago. Shoots a pinch of regular table salt, accurate to around 3' or so. It was an impulse buy, but I totally used it on that nymph I saw yesterday.
  22. Yeah the radar has been such a tease lately. I hate to say it, but I think you're right--more of the same today. Oh well.
  23. Got up to 95 here today. Waited until the very last to go out and do yard work again, as did several of our neighbors. I can't wait to be able to sit outside for any length of time and enjoy all the fruits of our labors... in September. This might not be wx related, but I saw my first SLF nymph yesterday, and the Japanese beetles have shown up and are steadily chomping through my herb garden and petunias, of which we have quite a few. Bastards. Noticed the clouds to the NW had some cool, sunset backlighting earlier and snapped a pic. Notice the bunny brazenly sitting in the middle of the road. My wife has been doing battle with those as well. One by one we are swapping out the plants they apparently like to eat with ones they hopefully don't. Bastards.
