No, that typo was not a typo. Hour 300 is just as likely to come true as day 300. LOL. Both are potential snow days. :-). There is snow in the 300's on the Para I looked at earlier.
Yea, I am not counting on any specific temps but the auspice of some records was interesting to me though the data I was looking at was not correct so no records forthcoming this week. Still a nice slap to the Mid Atlantic winters over crew.
So MDT has a legit chance to break 3 low records temps this week based on a blend of the GFS, Euro and CMC. March 5th, March 7th and March 8th (with the CMC temp on the 8th being the coldest temp ever recorded at MDT in March.
Thanks, I was thinking it would be you coming through with this link if you were on. Not sure it was not more easily identified in a search. I had it all the time was just not seeing the proper area but searched again when you pointed me back to it.
One thing that needs decided is if MDT goes below 10 Sunday night does that count as "this winter" or has MDT secured their no nights below 10 record at this point? LOL.
Wind Chills near 0F tonight. And its trash/recycle night in these parts. If my neighbors get Morningstar cardboard boxes in their yard again they may freak out on me.
Its funny how some consider PSU and Losetoa6's environment as seemingly Green Bay Wisconsin like. All the somewhat illogical discussion down there and the best defense for "stick a fork in it" is that today's is the last day of Met winter. No mention of that. LOL. Early Spring has been pretty much cancelled by all the medium range models including for those in the MA.
Arguably the coldest weather of the winter is on tap over the next 10 days. Not much in the way of precip right now but it seems to me the MA people making their declarations are just looking at radar maps. MDT is closing out Met winter having gone below 20 only 3 nights. Euro has MDT getting down to or below 20 three times in the next 7-10 days....CMC has 6 times.
People just a few hundred feet above me still have 6-12" snow packs as of this moment. They will be building Easter snowmen with the coming cold stretch securing their pack.
