  1. 3.5" and Sn+. Quickly turning into a top 5 event for the season.
  2. Yea, I expect to to snow until lunchtimeish. Just not sure these rates keep up.
  3. 2 1/2". Intensity scaled back a bit as the heaviest snow starts to move east of here. Pretty much 2" an hour rates for close to an hour.
  4. Especially after some erroneous calls of it being a low impact event...from some TV met's.
  5. This is about as heavy as its been at any point this winter. Sn ++. Roads would have caved at 34 or 35 with these rates,
  6. Sn+ at 8AM. Temps dropped about 4 degrees with the saturation/snow start. Down to 25. 1/2 to 3/4 of an " on the ground.
  7. Yea around here things are getting slippery. Over in York they are probably going to be a little better off.
  8. In theory if they get the kids in the roads may be ok by dismissal time. Now that we are here at the start, not sure if the snow is coming in early enough to be an issue for schools.
  9. Laying on the sides roads here as well. We usually have issue with that near these marginal temps.
  10. 29/16. HRRR puts the LSV in the jackpot or go home zone. Very heavy snow or change to sleet just miles apart. Edit-Light snow has commenced at 7AM.
  11. It up for discussion to start in 3-4 years I believe.
  12. The new toll booths over the 83 bridge are going to slow things down. Lol
  13. If it comes late morning into the afternoon they may be right though even mid-day roads will get covered with over 1" an hour rates. If it starts before daybreak and we all get .4 to .6 in qpf it's a plowable storm IMO.
  14. I mentioned this before but all the schools I saw cancel school last week also cancelled virtual. Not sure why. I did not look into schools in Cumberland, Dauphin, York, etc...
  15. Verbatim model reading would make tomorrow one of our top 5-6 snows this Winter I believe. Getting less headlines than I would expect especially with the terrible timing. Potential for some of those "I got stuck on the way to work in a 4 hour traffic jam" stories. Take the LSV. Most models have some jackpotting in the 4-6" range. MDT could potentially get more snow tomorrow than all of last winter.
  16. Sometimes it's nice to get off work and drive home with little fear of traffic issues.
  17. I have also appreciated the "what's next" results from the last 4 or 5 weeks. Even now as we go into a borderline high wwa situation, next weekend has opened up as a tracking target.
  18. I had commented about the coming quandary a few days. Not cool to have busses rolling with snow falling and covered roads.
  19. Yep, potential here for more than it is being hyped up.
  20. Snowing through majority of the state by 8AM on the HRRR. Early arrival and caved roads.
