Low of 56 last night. 57 right now. Warm air's last gasp the next 3 days? Guessing the warmer areas get up to 75ish today. Upper 60's to low 70's for the other areas of the LSV. Real battle on Friday even on the EC now which has MDT at 70 for its 18Z temp but near the M/D it's 80.

Probably an issue with the modeling but check out the 1PM temps on the GFS for Friday. Has MDT in the 50's 24 hours later on Sat.

@Cashtown_Coop, just cleared out here after a good .15" of rain but Quirauk is shrouded tonight. Rouzerville Clear, Pen Mar socked in. It feels great out. Most fall feeling evening so far. 57 and crisp.

HRRR is wondering aloud if you even get to 70 tomorrow. I think you do but its really not looking that warm tomorrow as compared to the possibility of 80's before.

I think it simultaneously enhances our enjoyment of the hobby as well as dirties the water. I am guilty of taking them too literally sometimes.

Understand. I was going with the "how many days BN" question. There is no hounds of winter weather coming yet.

The current NWS Zone forecast for MDT is below normal for both Sunday and Monday.

If you go back to the 12Z run on Sunday, it was forecasting 46 at MDT hour 240. If you then look at the same forecast period as you move forward 12 hours, to now, it raises it one degree 3 in a row then stays at the higher temp this last run. The EC has never really been on the band wagon of BN temps vs more seasonal than this week.

I am still comfortable with my call of 5-7 for the month (think that is what is was). I frankly only look at the EC to be part of the convo here. Both GFS and CMC have MDT BN 3-4 days over next 9. EC was off by some 8-9 degrees here today and 3-4 degrees at MDT. But its all model talk. My numbers could be way too high.

EC raised the 18Z Temp at MDT, for Thursday 10/21, up from 59 to 73 in 12 hours. Fall Naysayers are feeling good with it.

Verbatim that would be an 84-86 type day unless clouds interrupt. The record is 84.

If this panel is close, Friday will probably be a record breaker. Like most days, the EC is warmer than most others and it usually verifies too warm so some caution with that. EC is running several degrees too high even today.

Just to clarify, the 7 out of 12 BN for highs was specific to my locale. We had several more of these cloudy days vs. the other side of the mountains. MDT has had 8 of the first 11 highs AN.

2PM. 64 and...you guessed it...cloudy. Counting today, out of 12 October days over here, 7 will be below normal on the high scale (using MDT's numbers). Only 3 below normal lows/full days with several being WAY ABOVE normal due to the lows. Our estimated current departure from MDT's numbers are +4.8 degrees.

Quick scan shows the GFS has 6-7 days below MDT normal through hour 330.

The 'Vill may actually go down a bit if Wed night's cooling comes to its full potential. A low near 50 would be like a freezer compared to the last few days.

Most definitely the lows this year. Through 10 days last year MDT had recorded a total of 715 degrees when counting up the 10 daily highs so an average of 71.5 which is above average a few degrees. This year 739 so an average of 73.9. However the departure after 10 days last year was actually - (negative) .3. The departure now is +7.1. Pretty amazing stats.
