It gets there a different way from 0Z, with more of a transient trough this run, but the surface reflection in the Gulf is similar and not that impressive. Not going to get anywhere near us with that HP in NC.
I had someone out there, a bit west of the Palouse but still in the path somewhat, who sent me their Digital temp reading of 115. And they use a heat pump for A/C so it was a bit uncomfortable for them.
Some are interested in any weather phenomena that is well off the norm. Otherwise, the Palouse never gets mentioned here. According to Wiki, the highest temp ever in a Minn December is 74. @MrFreeze6298, you may be interested! @Itstrainingtime
That was what I saw over some various Op runs the last few days. Snow chances but no sustained cold as the cold faucet never opens from the north. We have been dealing with the zonal's every winter for some time now There was the one run where it put a deep trough in the west but otherwise has been more zonal than anything.
It's a business trip but no business happening at night. Its already in the 50's here and looks to be near 70 when I land. Actually not looking forward to this evening. I do not get to my hotel until 1-2AM.
Its going to be tough for the 20th storm just doing a verbatim run down of the GFS. Need the air mass to press a bit more. Its in the mid 30's in N PA.
I agree, there is no winter weather this week. You may have alluded to it in your previous post, but next Saturday is a close call on MR models right now. Not much separation between 24 degrees. Track of the SLP easy to see in the GFS below. Hopefully the boundary pushes south from here for next week.
Boy, if MDT gets to 66 on Thursday that will be quite the warm surge. I would have thought 55-60. Some sneaky 50's possible each day it appears. Already 46-47 at MDT.
