I am sure the wind comments were based on weather during storms. They actually had damaging winds listed as a moderate possibility which is high for them.

Thanks I forgot about Don but I was counting down the names....I see they list one as an unnamed storm which is bit confusing with the named storm verbiage in their prediction. I guess they mean any storm that gets to 39mph. At 5 they still need one a week if nothing for the next week. If we get one per week in Nov, that will be something so really need a blockbuster 8-10 week period coming up.

Last year picked up a bit as well but we are extremely low for Mid-August at that point. We would need a once or twice a week situation to make this a busy season. GFS has something end of August. They are calling for 14-21 storms and have had only 3 so far so take 18 as an example, we need 15 over the next 12-14 weeks.

They have moved to paying a few people way too much money and most players less...with the Sal cap. The Beard might actually be in the talent level of the lesser group now.

I was not here but the till recorded .15 with lots of Lightning from my wife's comments. MDT was at .10 so seems like it was localized. Capital City was .17.

MDT's norm precip would be about 27" right now and they have about 22" so that is probably where the 5 is coming from.

The latest HRRR has two lines of showers and storms coming through the LSV....around rush hour then just after midnight.

I am at the northwest edge of an area that has received much less rain than surrounding areas...it runs down into N MD and parts of VA and WV. We are in D1 with small pockets of D2 throughout. Much of it is attributed to convection drying out between "mountain chains".

We have had less than 16" for the year with it being extra dry in June and most of July. Now, with everything so dry, normal is not enough. The grass would need rain every 2-3 days to try and recover. Under trees it is green again though.

MDT/Harrisburg for Met summer mean avg temps. Only one since 1992.

Some of ours has died. I will have to plant seeds in 3-4 weeks. But where the grass lives, it is green vs. a week or two ago but hardly growing. I bet I mow once or twice more in 2023 but not much more than that. My neighbor has not mowed the sunny portion of his yard since June.

Mow #11 in the books but it was partial as about a 1/3 of the lawn is not growing. I am pulling the plug on the met summer mowing season. I am sure I mow again before winter but going to end Met summer with 11 mows as no more mows in August. It was a stretch to mow today.

MDT is well BN for the summer as a whole right now...those norms do change like has been stated before...but they currently stand at -1.7 for June, July and August. Removing norms from the equation and looking at mean temps, they currently stand at number 29-32 as of yesterday.
