  1. Definitely need to get in the mid 50's for windows open here. Temps 65ish does not cool down my place enough unless I put in windows fans to pull it in.
  2. PS, technically MDT is BN for Met summer right now. These are the adjusted Norm's MJS keeps reminding us about. The current average departure for June, July, and August through yesterday is -.9 at MDT. I know you may be talking MU but wanted to add this in.
  3. Yep, the highs this year were not anything like a lot of recent years.
  4. This graphic shows a bit why this year is being perceived as not so bad. In recent terms, it is not. Top ten out of the previous 76 but out of the previous 8 years, it is the second coolest.
  5. It is hard for me to work when I know I am not respected regardless of who sees my balls. With that said, I could not call balls and strikes consistently.
  6. I did not hear about that, my bad. I should have Googled. But yea, he is terribly inconsistent. Makes me feel bad watching people shake their head at him...how does he stay out there and keep doing it when people disrespect him so much.
  7. I actually did not even think about his name but see he is Cuban FWIW. It is his strike zone that is on trial.
  8. Have you checked to make sure Angel Hernandez is not scheduled behind the plate for those games?
  9. WGAL said MDT is 6 below average for 90-degree days and 9 behind last year. Joe is really tooting the cool summer mantra. He punted 90's for the rest of met summer. Risky.
  10. A couple models suggested FFW's later this week....bring it.
  11. The 1/2-1" rains (much of Central and Eastern PA) through end of this week is pretty much the only PA rain through Sept 6th on the GFS. Both the CMC and GFS have a Hurricane passing well to the east of the area around this time next week....bad news for rain several days before and after the pass.
  12. 12Z's are wetter for Wed night to Friday.
  13. It has been mostly cloudy here all day, so we are only up to 81. Good for lessening more burn off.
  14. Thanks. In my case on the grass, it is lack of trees that really hurt me. The smaller area of the yard that has some shade is going ok. I kill the dandelions, so we do not have any of those. I do have some assorted weeds that I cannot keep out because the grass struggles so much with the lack of precip. I will be ok if I can keep most of the grass roots from dying like they did in 2020. As evidenced by the hours I reported, I am trying....
  15. As we enter the last full week of Met Summer, Plows down: Der Icon https://www.yahoo.com/news/shocking-images-show-snowplows-cleaning-220000920.html
  16. This is PA. Strawberries should not need watered twice a day.
  17. I have the only yard in the block that requires watering. Everyone else has given up. I cannot keep this up to maintain a lawn but hoping next year will be better so trying to keep it alive albeit it bent over and browning. We watered our in-ground plants Saturday AM and could not get to them again until this evening and they were wilting. Say what you want about climate change but when plants are close to dying in 36 hours, something is not good.
  18. 14 hours spent watering the outside this last 7 days. Crazy. Have to do it before or after sunrise to avoid neighbors. LOL.
  19. Our high was 85...down to 83/53 now. The HRRR from yesterday was about 8 too high here and was too low on the DP's as well.
  20. Just hit 80 here. No 90's today out this way. A beaut in the shade.
  21. Like living the life of @Voyager. "It's a dry heat" -Canderson, August 20,2023.
