  1. MDT already 88. Record seems like a cinch unless something crazy happens. Looking for our 5th 90 plus day of the year here at 82 right now.
  2. No, no....I go the week after. You would have to pay me to go bike week (no offense to anyone, it is crazy no matter how much one wants to admit it).
  3. Autumnal Heatwave. Heat up the ocean for my OC trip.
  4. It was cloudy here much of the early afternoon. It is only 81 about 30 min north of me in Cumberland county.
  5. The sun broke out here and we are up to 88. Feels warmer for sure with the clouds breaking. Looks like MDT made 93 which was about as expected from the models this AM. LNS 94.
  6. A very tolerable 85 at 2PM. Nice breeze and little sun.
  7. School started down here 2 weeks ago. LOL. Blizz is going with that for end of summer...Mid August.
  8. Yea, I am still hopeful (sorry heat lovers) this is a one-week heat dome/wave. Less hopeful about rain but at least chances will be there. Another 'Cane passing by to the east in the Atlantic next week on the OP GFS. That hurts our chances of rain.
  9. Outside the "Is Johnny Reb and Johnny Appleseed the same person" convo, GFS and CMC both have the next chance of rain on Thursday. GFS caved and is now just low 90's today after advertising mid to upper 90's for the last week or so (CMC was too cool about 3-4 days ago as well so it moved up a bit).
  10. Also, many of the wealthiest, liberal minded Adams County residents live in these so called confederate strong holds.
  11. I would guess that 4/5 of people with any knowledge of winter consider the seasons in the Met way. The fact that the Weather channel does means Met winter is probably the new norm (or at least they want it to be).
  12. Yea, you may have seen some signs talking about a path or trail......it takes 30-60 min but goes through the most beautiful part of the county showing off apple and other fruit orchards.
  13. 5-6 beer and wine tasting experiences within a few miles!
  14. 50 here this Am. Cannot seem to break into the 40's.
  15. PS, my favorite spot is parking in the first parking area and going to the group of tables to the right of the path over the bridge. There is one table there that almost sits out over the creek because of the shape of the land. Lots of small snakes in the rocks under that area.
  16. Outside the Chevy Chase jokes, I think for some of the dry locales, it has been accentuated by the way the totals have tallied up. Long stretches of nothing but T's and then a 1-2" hammer making the numbers look better than they really are as it pertains to vegetation. 1/4"-1/2" of an inch every 3-4 days is much better than 3" totaled over 2 days then close to nothing the rest of the month. Totals look similar but on the ground results are much different. Here is states evidence exhibit A to back your beautiful summer claim:
  17. Those "high lows" will cause MDT to be slightly above normal for Aug as well like MJS mentioned a few days ago. Overall Met summer is well BN at MDT due to June's large departure. Looks like MDT will end up the 4th coolest summer since 2010 mean wise and 5th coolest high temp mean wise with 2017 being the last cooler date in both circumstances. Not great at all full history wise but still a break from the previous 5 year frying pan. Low temp wise, 2023 is currently tied for second coolest since 2010 (again 2017 the last one). MDT's lows have been "high" for quite a long time. Have to go back to the 1990's to see a time when MDT was cooler at night more than a random year. Some lowers numbers form the 1990's are 62.4 and 63.7. I say HIA.
  18. As I was mentioning in the other replies, I think the highs this year, over here at least, have been "not so hot". Hot compared to full historical records but not hot compared to 2000's.
  19. I actually do think we are warming as a whole. But was nice to score some 40's down here in Aug for once.
