  1. WGAL said MDT is 6 below average for 90-degree days and 9 behind last year. Joe is really tooting the cool summer mantra. He punted 90's for the rest of met summer. Risky.
  2. A couple models suggested FFW's later this week....bring it.
  3. The 1/2-1" rains (much of Central and Eastern PA) through end of this week is pretty much the only PA rain through Sept 6th on the GFS. Both the CMC and GFS have a Hurricane passing well to the east of the area around this time next week....bad news for rain several days before and after the pass.
  4. 12Z's are wetter for Wed night to Friday.
  5. It has been mostly cloudy here all day, so we are only up to 81. Good for lessening more burn off.
  6. Thanks. In my case on the grass, it is lack of trees that really hurt me. The smaller area of the yard that has some shade is going ok. I kill the dandelions, so we do not have any of those. I do have some assorted weeds that I cannot keep out because the grass struggles so much with the lack of precip. I will be ok if I can keep most of the grass roots from dying like they did in 2020. As evidenced by the hours I reported, I am trying....
  7. As we enter the last full week of Met Summer, Plows down: Der Icon https://www.yahoo.com/news/shocking-images-show-snowplows-cleaning-220000920.html
  8. This is PA. Strawberries should not need watered twice a day.
  9. I have the only yard in the block that requires watering. Everyone else has given up. I cannot keep this up to maintain a lawn but hoping next year will be better so trying to keep it alive albeit it bent over and browning. We watered our in-ground plants Saturday AM and could not get to them again until this evening and they were wilting. Say what you want about climate change but when plants are close to dying in 36 hours, something is not good.
  10. 14 hours spent watering the outside this last 7 days. Crazy. Have to do it before or after sunrise to avoid neighbors. LOL.
  11. Our high was 85...down to 83/53 now. The HRRR from yesterday was about 8 too high here and was too low on the DP's as well.
  12. Just hit 80 here. No 90's today out this way. A beaut in the shade.
  13. Like living the life of @Voyager. "It's a dry heat" -Canderson, August 20,2023.
  14. Drought maps in the mid-west could go ballistic. Nooners and 69....on August 19th. LOL. People were wearing jackets this AM.
  15. Boning up for our first Winter 23-24 Nam'ing.
  16. I tried. There cannot be that many things to do in Myra that could keep him from here. It is still there.
  17. MDT made 61 or 62. So far this month only 2 days have stayed 70 and above for lows at MDT. Last year they had 9 by this point and tacked on 7 more to have 16 days @ 70 and above for lows.
  18. He has not been hibernating! He has been racking up liquid totals (not to your level though!)
  19. GFS wonders if PA's first frost of the season is on Sept 02. The PAWeather 540 line is saying hi.
  20. That would be every day in August so far. Summer 2023 dropped the ball.
